I would like to know how come their are so few late model notchbacks around. Is it because not to many were produced or because they were all mainly in other countries and not the U.S.A. Question I just think they look awesome and I would prefer one cause I think they look better than the earlier one's. Just IMO of course I'm just curious if the late model notches were mostly in canada, germany, australia, cause you don't see to many in the U.S.. Crying or Very sad Early models are always around but not the late models. Evil or Very Mad

some of us see the sleeker lines of the later models along with the benefits of better aerodynamics, more luggage space up front, etc... and we like it... Smile

of course, then we detract from our argument by swapping out the freight truck bumpers for early blades and completely shaving the aircraft-sized front turn signals for early bullets, wraparounds, etc... but I still like the late model's lines...

Most of them were not imported into the USA compared to the peak time period of 63-65. In the USA, people were happy with buying a Fastback at their local dealer instead of a Notchback.

I don't know what you're talking about. I've got two of them in my back yard

Front row, two on the end. 1972 and 1971, followed by a 1965.

I agree with blankmange and love the later model lines with a few hints of the early models ( bumbers & turn signals) but prefer the space and aerodynamics.

Don't lie. It just makes your nose grow. Then you look like a late T3.
But how about that trailer under the pretty one? Wowza! I could get in a lot of trouble with equipment like that.

No late Nothces? - Possibly because they look like speedboats when stock height, particularly when the back has sagged too, plus I just cant stand the MASSIVE late back lights or MASSIVE indicators.

This is all in my opinion of course and the only late T3 i'd even consider would be a square. Whereas earlies look the tits and i'd have in this order Notch -> Square -> Fasty !!

What order would you lot have?

after looking at the production figures here on thesamba
http://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/info/productionfigurest3.php
it looks like VW made more T3s in 62 than in 73, and more in 63 than 72...
would this not create more interest in the late models ?
i have a 73 SB that a was getting ready to sell, but after seeing that i think
maybe i should hold onto it, or ask for a higher price...?

Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Not again. Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes How many times are you going to say the same thing. What the hell is a "vdub". Can't you just say "volkswagen"? You have never answered that in the 4 or 5 times I have asked. You think I'm an asshole, but you mostly give inaccurate responses to people and then say fasty is a gay ass word. It's getting a little tiring.
