Update, part 2, Package came this morning, all parts included.
Seems to be good stuff. I will give them a solid B rating, shipping and communication seemed slow, to me, for such a big outfit!
Will I use them again...good chance! _________________ BWD

I placed an order on Sunday, it's Tuesday and I haven't got a confirmation email yet...CIP1 and WW at least send you an email to confirm that they indeed got your order. I assume they got mine, but I guess I'll be emailing them if I don't get one in the next couple days. I'll be gone all next week so this has gotta be sorted out this week. _________________ My '72 Super

Just recreived a Ghia tow bar from California JBUGS. $100 plus $58 shipping. That's only 58% shipping charge. The bar was devoid of paint with several areas of bare metal showing. The bar appeared to be used as much of the paint was scraped off and someone had taken a hammer in an apparent attempt to straighten the top of the bar.
I called California JBUGS and spoke to Sam. He advised me to go to Home Depot and buy some krylon paint and paint the bar myself. Sam also told me that the damage probably had not occurred in shipping, but that California JBUGS had probably shipped the damaged item in that condition.
Suffice to say, the pins which are required to use the tow bar and included in the $158 price were not in the shipment. I suspect they would not have fit anyway.
I normally use Karmann Ghia Parts and Restoration (KGPR) and been very satisified.
Ladies and Gentlemen...you have been warned.

Got another shipment from J-bugs. Almost a week from So-cal to Nor-cal, seems slow after dealing mostly with Wolfsburg West. That's my only complaint, that and the minor issue of the card of 10 8 amp fuses only had 9! The parts I received seem to be very good quality! _________________ BWD

I have recently had a rather poor experience dealing with these guys at Jbugs. I ordered an all new fuel gauge set up, the sending unit, and the gauge itself. paid the 60 bucks with shipping, and was good.
got the stuff, then i was not so good. the parts they sent are extremely cheap plastic. i realize these are replicated parts on 40 year old cars, but come on, this is ridiculous. I went to install it all, and i found out that they sent me the wrong gauge. ok, they paid the postage for it back, and sent the new one. no biggie.
i get the new gauge. its even CHEAPER than the last one. it is fully plastic, and the plastic face cover was completely scratched up. by this time i was sick of dealing with getting new ones, so i just left it in. a few days later, i run out of gas on the highway, when my gauge read 1/4 tank. i am ticked.
i call them up, and this is where i got really angry to the point of posting this and never using them again. I called them up, talked to a guy, whose name i forget. i told im how the gauge was reading improperly, and he went onto blame me for not "adjusting" it correctly. i proceeded to tell him it was adjusted correctly, and that the needle was stuck in one place.
so here i am, 60 dollars in the hole for a gas gauge that hardly resembles the original from a 67 bug, and they do not want to do a refund for me on it. so for the 24 dollars they could have refunded me they are possibly going to lose thousands of my business.
i can somewhat understand the parts being a bit cheaper, although, i felt 60 for the total order was kind of high, but that may be just me. i was more dissapointed with the lack of helpfulness, and the rude disposition the multiple people i delt with had as soon as i asked for help, and a refund
oh well, won't be using them again, thats for sure. if nothing else, you don't want to make your customers feel like idiots over the phone, ESPECIALLY when its a defective part that you supplied them |

I must say after reading this feedback (after placing my order) I was concerned with Pacific JBugs, but I received my order in an acceptable amount of time. My seat belts were wrong, but they promptly corrected the mistake. I wil ad the only negative thing I have found is the lack of friendly people answering the phones. Seem to be too concerned to get you on and off the phone. You get a bad feeling when you call. _________________ aka Ken

I've ordered from JBugs three times in the past couple of months. Here's my experience so far.
The Good:
They charge actual shipping costs.
Fast shipping if the parts are in stock.
Quick response to a wrong part. Correct part sent within a day or two.
The Bad:
No notice that a part was not in stock until I called a week later to ask why the order wasn't shipped out.
Overall, I'm satisfied with their service and will order from them again. |

I ordered a headliner and door kits for my 69 Single Cab from them. This being the first time I ordered anything from them directly. I get an e-mail stating my order had shipped. A week later I call to ask where my stuff is as they already took the funds from my business account and the sales person tells me they only shipped the door kits as the headliner had to be made by TMI. I tell them I received an e-mail stating my order had shipped and you deducted the entire amount for everything that I ordered. There was no e-mail stating that the headliner was not available yet and had to be special ordered. Then I ask how much longer for the headliner and he tells me 2 weeks. Now here's the funny part, I ordered on the 12th of March. On March 13th I got the order conformation e-mail stating the amount for the products needed and the shipping charges. Then I get another e-mail stating the order had shipped. I called on the 18th of March, then on the evening of March 18th I get an e-mail stating that my order had just shipped. Now my question is are they going to charge me extra shipping when the headliner comes in as they have my business credit card on file? I would have to think twice about ordering from them again. If they would have told they didn't have the headliner I could have got it from one of my other sources as I have a deadline to meet on the vehicle. _________________ If you argue with an idiot for more than 5 minutes, who's the real idiot?

I ordered a passenger floor pan and body seal from California Pacific/JBugs on 23 Mar. They called me to confirm shipping costs and were very cordial (contrary to some of the negative reviews I have read). The same day I received an e-mail with a Fed Ex tracking number.
My order arrived this morning (30 Mar) and was well packaged in bubble wrap and what I think was a whole roll of packing tape. My thanks to the guy (or gal) who probably spent 15 minutes going around and around taping it up. Your labors are certainly appreciated.
I am very pleased with my experience and will not hesitate to order from them again. |

Well, the headliner that I ordered on March 13 and then canceled on March 18 showed up at the house. I called and got some a-hole with a really bad attitude telling me that they had no record of the headliner being canceled and that I can refuse it and they would give me partial credit. I asked why only partial credit when I called and canceled it. The guy tells me that's the way it goes and hangs up. I already took my Single Cab to a local upholstery shop and paid them $150.00 to install one that they made for me. Now I have another headliner I have no use for. Guess I will donate it to a local Show as a Raffle Prize. I will never do any business with these monkeys ever again. _________________ If you argue with an idiot for more than 5 minutes, who's the real idiot?

Ordered a one piece window kit, got a confirmation of the order, waited a week and didn't hear anything else or get the parts. Read this thread and decided to call them. The guy on the phone was very helpful and friendly, he let me know that the order had been back ordered twice, info that would have been nice to know so I could order elsewhere, but I'm in no particular hurry so when he told me he would call bugpack and give me a call back I was cool with it. Never heard back so gave them a call the next day, I could tell that nobody had called bugpack but they played it off as if they did and that they didn't know when the parts would come in. In the end I canceled my order and they were cool about it but I don't think I would order from them again, they didn't leave me with that "confident I was being taken care of feeling" _________________ my 56 build thread

| Im getting worried here! I ordered some parts a few weeks ago. They took the money out of my account that day and already had shipping costs calculated out... and nothing. No shipping info, no packages still. They won't respond to my emails regarding my order. I discovered all the bad feedback they have received over the years and wonder if it was a wise move, now! Can anyone tell me if they (Jbugs) are decent enough that they will eventually send my order or do I need to keep trying to get a hold of them? I know I may be being impatient, but when someone takes money out of my account and a week or two goes by with no shipping info, emails, etc. I get pissed! I get pissed when I call and send emails and they are never answered; its all bad business and is starting to be commonplace in the autopart industry. Am I screwed or should I just be patient? |

| I called twice. The guy said it was a special order and would be there on Wednesday, which was a week ago. Still nothing. I called again and they took my number and said they would call me back when they "figure out what the deal is"... still nothing. Im getting frustrated here! |

| Ordered 3 things on May 5, received on may 20 because they were waiting on 1 item to come in. One item they shipped was the wrong one. A simple picking mistake because the part # on the invoice was correct, but the shipped part was different. They said the correct part would be shipped right away, and to just keep the incorrect one. |

| Just pickup a 63 rag top and had a long list of stuff that I needed to get this project rolling. Placed an order with jbugs and on a Monday night and money was takken out. I assumed everything was in stock , well the site doesn't tell you what is in and what is out of stock. Called on Thursday just to check and got a very rude dude on the phone who hung up on me after it was over. Granted it was only a $500 order but it would have been nice to receive an email of when it ships or at least a rag top is not not in stock and takes 4-6 weeks. Crap half my order wasn't in stock and it was just basic stuff. First and last order with these guys!!! |

| They also charged my credit card right away, but shipped days later. Some vendors don't charge until they ship. |

I've been purchasing quite a lot of stuff during the last 6 months from JBugs simply because I found their tutorial DVD helpful.
All items were received quickly and satisfactorily.
I have absolutely no complaints with these guys. |

Ordered on Friday and had the order ship the same day with regular shipping. Received order in Idaho Monday morning. I always have great service with this company. _________________ Stefan
