It's a matter of supply and demand.
It doesn't matter if it's rare, if nobody wants it.
This car is for sale here on the Samba. Almost 4000 people have looked at it but it hasn't sold. Those "rare" parts haven't helped it.

I thought this forum was to Discuss VW accessories - stock, rare, or aftermarket?
I'm not trying to sell it in this forum just figured i'd post it here to see how rare or not this piece is.
If it's not rare then say so. |

It's rare.... very rare. In fact I haven't seen one in person since the 80's. _________________ Glenn

Rare?...maybe.
Worth anything?...Not really.
Part of VW history that we'd all just as soon forget?...Definitely. |

Mount a big stick on the top and you can go shovel some elephant shit at the zoo. _________________ Serenity now! |

You should try selling it to someone with a Honda. Tell 'em it'll give them 25 more horse power. |

I think it would be cool to fix up a 70's bug and put that tail on it with wide wheels. I kinda like the look. |

Hang onto it, none of us want it now but in 10 years when the ricers grow up it will be worth a small fortune. _________________ If your not workin or cleanin your not looking hard enough. |

It's been 10 years since this post and I have one in The attic.
I don't see that small fortune yet, guess I'll hold it until I am 60 and try again.
I actually have paint to match the car and for kicks I'd pondered just putting it on since it's all of two hinge pins for a laugh. _________________ Royals 2015 World Champions
