Why cut it up?
It would've been easier to sell it whole, much faster, less effort. Act of retribution?? |
Right!!
Took me some time to come to this point...
Selfish... stupid...lack of skills...lack of money...Maybe because I drive a bus every fucking day for like over 2 years now I lost interest in such a project.
This thing was a POS allright.
Some of these parts people can use on their project... maybe I will keep them and change my 67 to a earlier one someday? Or maybe I will throw them away?
I think I might put it all back together now... we will see!
My wife says I lost motivation because I spend to much time on the "Wood U Hit It" thread!!

has anyone ever attempted to alter the rear hatch window in a later model split bus? my question would be concerning how difficult it would be to cut out the large rear window opening and instal a smaller size window from an earlier bus. is this doable and how difficult do you think it would be? |
abeed wrote: |
i understand that it may be difficult to do. i can get the parts for free and like the look of the earlier hatches. i also like the poptop westy so an ealier bus is not really an option. i would like to know if anyones ever attempted it. As far as the comment that it would look like crap i question how much difference it would make compared to the earlier hatches. i like the look of the smaller window in an earlier bus and i am trying to achieve the look with a later model bus. i seemes to me that converting the window size of a larger window bus the the looks of eithier buses would be very similar in appearence. i dont think hatch width would be a major factor in the look of the rear of the bus |
abeed wrote: |
dam u people are really set against the hatch conversion--no one has mentioned if they have actually seen this type of conversion before they just seem to want to pass judgement---as for the people concerned with the distruction of precious split parts, the hatches are pretty rusty anyway and i thought this project would be a FUN project ---i am not trying to FOOL anyone with thinking my bus is an earlier model--i just like the look of a smaller window--blindspot and all-- |
How did that turn out Richard??? _________________ SBS #89 |

oh come on, that wasn't that nice of a bus to start with.
Chris did the right thing by bailing before he wasted any more time and money on that pit. _________________ .
