A few years back I saw a blue and white 21-window in a Wrigley gum commercial. I can't remember if it was Juicy Fruit or Spearmint...

Does anyone remember that one... or better yet, does anyone have any pictures from that commercial?

Is there an archive of our beloved Splitties in commercials? Post what you got!

cause busses are seXXXy... they damn well should use them in comertials...
i think they should make one where they have some rapper pull up next to a bus in his Escalade or w/e and they get lookin like there about to race... then the bus floors it and dusts the rapper guys car XD POWER TO BUS OWNERS!
it could be a coke cola comertial... or a comertial for volkswagon!

I think you might be talking about the Ameritrade commercial. They start off with a panel then go to a Deluxe if I recall correctly.

The bus in the gatorade commercial is one of those Brasilian Split - Bay window combos from the 70's - not a normal 15 window. I paused my TIVO to confirm while watching a football game....makes sense in the commercial because they are showing guys playing soccer in the street (must have actually been filmed in South America)

We've had a few in the UK recently - Phones for you (cell phone compay) had one touring the UK with a massive speaker on the roof and in TV adds a while back - there were details of it on a web site but I can't find it. Saw one in an add for batchelors noodles last night. Also remember seeing a single cab in a tampax add a year or so ago!!!! Laughing

I remember seeing the Gatorade one a while back. Haven't seen it recently, though.

That bus was for sale a couple years ago here on the Samba. It didn't sell. It was recently for sale again (within the past couple of weeks for like 12K), but I can't seem to find where I saw it. I think the seller's name was Dan Kateana (spelling?) from Chicago.

got pics of a red/ white 21 (near mint w/ safaris)bus in NYC rolling around with some decals for HSBC bank in my phone ,but dont have a way to get them off yet. I spoke with him for all of three minutes and I was behind the wheel cruising around ST. Marks Place on the lower east side. NICE

I was in the U.P. of Michigan this weekend, sitting belly-up, and an episode of "Law and Order" came on.

I am kinda watching it out of one eye, next thing I see is a splitty getting pulled out of a river by a crane! This bus became the focus of the show! They kept incorrectly refering to the bus as a '68, but it was a splitty and from a couple of the angles I swore it looked like a barndoor!

Anyone ever see that episode? I tried to catch an episode number or something at the end, but somebody started talking in my ear right at the end and I missed the credits.

Anyway - thought it was worth sharing. The bus looked like it was in pretty good shape!

I was watching the movie Bullit with Steve McQueen the other day and during that cool car chase I picked out maybe 6-8 cool buses and so many bugs I lost count.

Just saw a new Target commercial with a nice red/white splitty in it. It is a christmas commercial, and they even show the interior a couple of times.

Keep an eye out for it!

O.K. not a t.v. commercial but instead an MTV video, Sheryl Crow ~ Soak up the Sun. Plus the cover of a magazine (Guitar something) had Jewel sitting in one. Those are the two that come to my mind.

Just saw it. Funny thing is... Interior shot is a deluxe/sunroof/skylight bus. Exterior shot is a standard 11 window bus.
