At first I was a little skeptical about the front bumper being all straight tube with no bends, but after seeing it with the front end on it looks a lot better. I nice aluminum skid plate would top that front end off nicely! How is the back bumper looking? _________________ "It's not complicated, it's just expensive!"

Are you going to seal the ends of the tubes on your rear cage? Or is that where you put your fishing rods? _________________ For a Good time |

ive bent tie rods back stright with the ends open like that.. its helped me when i was stranded, so ill probably keep them open. ill only be driving it in the desert, no rain and i keep it in the garage.. so i dont think ill have any problems. _________________ CUSTOM OFF ROAD FABRICATION FOR VW TYPE 1.. well i spent all day working on the bug.. got the motor out of the blue bug, and into the baja. got the new shifter in, and new steering wheel. im shootin for tomarow or the next day, to go buy some prp seats, and clutch cable, and brake lines. possibly a wireing harness. unless i can just get it running without one.

alot more work finished today and yesterday.
oil cooler with fan and thermostat.
new oil pump.
filter
new exhuast
oil light, idiot light, and cb radio.
both amber lights, and the led whip light works too.
the new wiring, almost done. everything works but the starter, which is basicly all i need.
getting prp seats tomarow.
should i keep the roof rack on or take it off? i like the look of both, but im wondering what all of you think. _________________ CUSTOM OFF ROAD FABRICATION FOR VW TYPE 1.. BOLT ON KITS. for more info, please go to: http://www.myspace.com/blackmetalworks

You could always try to do the best of both worlds and make the top removable. Just make a flange that goes all the way around the cut line and you could bolt the top back on for bad weather or cold weather driving. _________________ is it time to get out of the dirt and switch to the street? |

today i decided to build up my other bug into another baja. one for driving to work and whatnot. my other baja doesnt have any floor in the back, nor windows. and im going to take out the windsheild, and have it for desert use only. this way i can have a car to break, and one to drive around town.
this is what im starting with..
got new wheels and tires today. 60 bones, all have good tread.
this is the start of the project. more to come. _________________ CUSTOM OFF ROAD FABRICATION FOR VW TYPE 1.. BOLT ON KITS. for more info, please go to: http://www.myspace.com/blackmetalworks

my buddy works at pflueger racing, and had some left over stickers from the new Trophy Truck. so he gave me one and i slaped it on my car. haha.
ill take it off one day when i re-paint the car. but as for now, i think it looks pretty rad. _________________ CUSTOM OFF ROAD FABRICATION FOR VW TYPE 1.. BOLT ON KITS. for more info, please go to: http://www.myspace.com/blackmetalworks
