I have a Stock 73 T3 Sqb 1600 FI and was wondering what are the most popular "basic" mods for adding HP/performance. If you have done mods yourself please share which ones were the best bang for the buck..

Thanks

Header. No other single mod will give you more HP for the money. Be aware, however, that with your stock FI, you may need to bump up the fuel pressure slightly to take advantage of whatever mods you make.

I know I will get flamed for this but loose the FI. Go with a set of carbs.

what are your feelings on the stock coil? Do they have enough punch for an old car that runs rich no matter what you do.

on a stock motor I have never had a problem with the stock coil. There has to be a reason your running rich.

the best thing you can do to feed your desire for more horsepower is buy a newer, faster car for the weekends. let your VW be a VW and by a mustang or something on the side like I did.

leave your stock engine alone. save the money for a bigger engine with a longer crank.
I used to have a squareback and trust me, the car is very heavy! You need more inches to make it move. Build a 2007 or 2110cc motor, big valve heads, moderate cam, merged exhaust, weber DCNFs and full flow oil system. keep the injected motor for a spare. common, you know you want to hear those webers man!!!
