Sure adds to the value of the camper! That must be the Honeymoon suite! |
You should of offered him $500 for the bus top portion! I bet that section alone is worth a pretty penny! |
It's really well done inside the camper. It has all the amenities including a wood burning stove. Circular stairs lead up to the widened 23 penthouse. I had been aware of it for many years, first time to see it up close and meet the owner. |
Ya know, I didn't even notice the first time that it had been widened! Duh!! I'll still say that those remains of the 23 window would be worth some decent $ _________________ Contact me at [email protected]

It's funny though....
The if you notice the lack of care taken to make the sides "flow" into the rest of the camper. And compare that to the seemingly "factory made" metal work done on the wide rear hatch and what we can see of the rear section of the roof.
Could this have been from some ULTRA RARE coach built wide body 23 window?
I thought I read somewhere in the past that you could get a widened bus from the factory that would have a additional middle windshield added. Maybe this isn't the case but, it does look REALLY well done in the back.

This is a one of a kind project car. It has been my daily driver for the past 3 years and has treated me well but its time to move on.
It runs and drives well but needs someone with more patience than me to finish the cosmetic work.
The inside is rough and needs the attention to detail and wiring prowess that is beyond my ability.
1974 Stingray Corvette with T-tops
2002 VW Diesel Engine
Toyota truck 5 spd transmission
Acme Adapters adapter plate to put them together
New tires last fall
This car gets 55+ mpg and is a blast to drive |

The owner told me all about it. It was made from only one bus, a wrecked 23 dlx. I think he said was a 58' or 59'. You can see a bit of SWR peeking out of rear hatch down low left side. |

If I were in a situation where all I needed was a commuter with zero storage and hauling capacity, I would be happy as hell to drive that thing to work. I wonder how tough it would be to attach a fiberglass truck bed to the back? I can already envision an overhead lumber rack. _________________ nothing |

Did anyone else notice it has the Connecticut early american antique plates? Does this "bastard" even count? |

The 90's were the decade of custom metallic paints, custom electronic everything, and just general custom over the top mods. I wonder if the '00's and '10's are the decades of the volksrod, patina and rat rods? We've had German look, Jersey look, Cal Look, and the Florida Look. I'm honestly curious what the next trend in creativity will be? I just want the hover conversion like in Back to the future. |

It has VW parts!
I wonder what the 0-60 is? Those things weigh about 3500 pounds. |

1974 Corvette
3492 lbs curb weight
195 hp 275 ft-lbs torque (base 350)
6.8 seconds 0-60
2002 Jetta TDI
2974 lbs curb weight
90 hp 155 ft-lbs torque
10.5 seconds 0-60
... probably gets great gas mileage though |
You would have to take lighter weight of the current drive train to get an accurate figure on it's current curb weight. Probably at least a couple of hundred pounds.
Of course we have no idea how well that setup is geared.
It's not going to be fast but it might not be as bad as you think. _________________ Chris
