Huh, that one's actually kinda neat! What's the story, was a near-flawless early bug chopped up to make it? Or is it something to do with what it's attempting to look like? I'm only a quarter-century old, I don't see the problem with this one. Please elucidate! No, seriously- why?
-edit-
Ah, I forgot to check the image name- Bugatti! A Bugatti replica* built on a Bug chassis. Terminally ironic maybe, but is it so bad?
*(I'm really hoping it's a replica! Otherwise... ) |
Even though this thread can get more than a little nasty on occasion (and many times, rightly so) its about bastards and abortions, so pretty much anything that has been heavily modified would technically be fodder for the comments. Agreed that the Bugatti is pretty cool. Lot of work and $$ went into that car. _________________ D-Dubya Manx clone - 63 Short pan,1914.

Ah, t'is true, it is a bastard, but it sure looks like fun! Thanks for the corrective nudge there, I needed that. Bring out the next unholy hybrid! |

That one belongs in the "abortion engines" thread which it probably already is. Doesn't look like it was ran in the last few years either. |

I've seen the alternator done a few times. When one compares the cost and availability of a rebuilt VW generator with a Delco alternator and one has a welder handy...
VW even did it themselves (with a VW generator) for some military vehicles.
I like the Buggati. I was tempted by one last year at Havasu, but then considered what my wife would say if I brought it home. |

Looks like some have already moved in.
But what gets me, is that they used a GM alternator, that has an external voltage regulator. Why not step up to an internal VR one? _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

"Rare flat Black custom Rat Rod Beetle with a V6 engine on BMW Wheels = $12,000 + taxes." - rare because it's a bastardized piece of shit?
...although not as rare as the 1964 Sun Beetle. _________________ '60 Canadian Standard, '64 Bug, another '64 Bug, '66 Bug, '69 Sunroof Bug, '69 GT3 Bug, '71 Super, '72 Super, '73 Canadian Custom, '74 Love Bug, '83 Mexi Bug, '85 Cabrio, '94 Mexi Bug, '99 New Beetle, '02 New Beetle Turbo S, '03 New Beetle VR6.
