For some reason, the body shape looks like a sandblasting cabinet on wheels. Now that I've thought that, I can't see it as anything else.

I'd be more worried about the electric fuel pump mounted hard up against the coil.
Spark and fuel together, what could possibly go wrong? _________________ Quick little bug, you got a Porsche motor in that?

I'll bet side pipes or semi stacks. _________________ Prosit!

"Stacks" can be seen in this picture.

Time for some Ghia Butchery:
you can find it on crags list down in Sebastian, FL
from the advert:
"I have a 1968 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia that has a 6" roof chop that is mostly completed. This is a project and will need finished.
The rear window was laid down for the chop so it utilizes a stock rear window. The outer part of the chop is done, but the inside and wheel wells need finished. The body has rust, but has all the replacement metal included with it. This is going to be an awesome project for someone to finish up, the hard part is already done!"
The hard part already done? The hard part is just fixing to get started, in my opinion.... _________________ -—--------—-------
