This looks like the Mr. Potato Head of VW parts put together by a 4 year old! I just can't fathom someone put in the time and money to make that, and stood back when it was done and said, "perfect, just what I was going for"! |
Well, at least they didn't paint it like an American flag. |
Not yet anyway! _________________ scrapyards are for quitters

that thing is awesome but I hope that there was some really bad damage before they did that to it. |

It's been here before but it's one of my favorites....Would love to see if it's been finished and what it finally looks like. Those bullet headlight covers are the bomb..... _________________ Gary

No, that's wheels inside of wheels, like:
This is eccentric:
But I grant you, "epicyclic" is more fun to say. _________________ Central Jersey VW Society

The centerline of the hub does (technically) follow an epicyclic path if you consider that the bicycle is being ridden on a sphere
Therefore, we should call it a Ptolemaic bicycle
Not the first time a 2-wheeled vehicle has been put on top of a VW:
And another Buggati:

Can't believe I'm saying this because I hate chop tops, but this looks pretty bad ass, for some reason. Maybe it's the 5 spoke baja wheels or that the chop isn't raked. I don't know, but it might be the first I've seen and liked.
A home built bastard, none-the-less.

Depending on the weld quality, the amount of bondo involved, and whether the engine can be made to run well without a full rebuild, it could be a nice deal!
Still, I've got more than enough to handle with my two bugs! |

This proposition merits further consideration, preferably in a pub. _________________ Central Jersey VW Society

Some interesting things to be found following that image link!
For example, a non-vw bike that definitely qualifies as something of an abortion! http://www.oldbike.eu/museum/engines/post-ww2/1960-krause-piccolo-trumpf/ _________________ Two Bugs-

It needs them because stationary windows would cause too much wind drag on the posts and bend them. Open safari's = less wind drag |
