There's plenty "wrong" with it, but not sure if its worthy of this thread.

Fat hatch bus with press bumpers, early tail lights, no front turn signals, deluxe trim on an eleven window kombi/standard, 17" wheels, checkered headlight buckets, etc. Most of those are just personal touches, though.

Exactly, I don't see this as any more "abortion" worthy than any of the thousands of Bugs that have been "back dated" with older parts. I prefer seeing good stock year basics, with personal aftermarket items, but I guess I understand the love of the older VWs. I'd daily drive a splitty Bug (with a 1600 and a slightly lowered front end) if they where not worth so much!

But seriously, why have a passenger seat when you totally could have crammed like 20 more speakers there?

Y'know, I'm really trying to hate this one, but it has a certain charm about it. Somebody honestly made an effort to produce something unique. It's well-proportioned and nothing seems to be Mickey-Moused.

Those enormous headlights really make that buggy something special, makes it work. Looks like they used rear baja bug fenders facing forward to help achieve that angle of attack? The well done woody look, it all works, I'd roll that with some pride.
