Well you and I (as well as others here) see them as a familar make and model that's special to us, the general public just sees a stack of shitty old mass produced trash from a bygone era, it could be Tercels or Civics or washing machines, but they likely wouldn't have the same appeal as a car that retained it's shape and look long after all other manufacurers changed with the times to blend in. The bug brought it upon itself by standing out as an icon of times past that burned itself into the memories of many generations, even if they didn't own one themselves it did it just with it's odd looks.
Do I agree with what the artist was thinking?, hell no!, but it's something that some members of society dig and they could care less if another old car was taken off the road and destroyed in the process. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

A waste of what? These are Mexican bugs, they have a shitload of them. There's junkyards filled with them, they even have a wall of them in one junkyard that spans as far as the eye can see and is piled 4 bugs high. |
yep, late model crap anyway, i just cut them up in hopes it would make them valuable one day. Plus they make good out door firepit seating

The teal one is a curved window Super Beetle (not Mexican).
I actually like the display. _________________ Good Luck

The yellow one looks to be at least partly a 67, but with 4 lug wheels. Maybe just a backdated late model? _________________ nothing |

It's just a german late model standard 1200 "Sparkäfer". they kept the small tail lights and blade bumpers. _________________ cars:

Some think that if your beetle has a padded dash, it's an engine donor. Some think that if it has push button door handles, it's a boat anchor.

What is a super clean '79 worth? $15, $20? Someone might pony up $25 for this thing- there's an ass for every seat, right?
Amazing airbrush work. I don't like the painting over the fender beading, though. |

I can afford a 71 beetle.
So, there's this.

Maybe the new trend will be narrowed rear axles so they can look like that ^ at the back. _________________

This is a perfect case for it taking 2. One to design a train wreck and one to buy it. _________________ D-Dubya Manx clone - 63 Short pan,1914.

If only you could have afforded some paint, it would look 60% better. _________________ Prosit!
