whoa! what engine is THAT????? |
For the record.. it's a base 1965 Chevrolet Corvair Corsa, 164 cid (2.7L) (140hp) horizontally opposed 6 cylinder air cooled American built, American modified engine, that's been reverse rotated and mated to a slightly tweaked 1968 VW transaxle..
Since my "Operation X" has made it into the abortions topic.. . I'm gonna take it as a compliment..
Built for me. by me.. ...from a pile of assorted Vw cars, parts, scrap and junk not for approval of anyone.. or to fit anyone's criteria.. .
BUT.....!
To put that hideous mid build topic abortion reference photo into current prospective..
Here it is .. a little more recently... a little more refined.. . maybe still an abortion to some...... but.... it's all me..

A waste of what? These are Mexican bugs, they have a shitload of them. There's junkyards filled with them, they even have a wall of them in one junkyard that spans as far as the eye can see and is piled 4 bugs high. _________________ Formerly known in the forums as "OVALTEEN"

They MAY be Mexican bugs, but I don't think so. The photo is in Germany. The name on the sign is the German city of Karlsruhe. Even if they were Mexican..... it would still be a waste! |

Exactly, would it be any different if it was a pile of Chevy Cavaliers?, they sure look Mexican to me regardless of location.
Some "artist" conned some corporate sponsors and the local city council into supporting thier project for a tax deduction, money was spent, a long lavish trip was taken to aquire cars and arrange shipping, local fab shops and construction companies got paid well for thier work, a black tie unveiling was held for the "who's who" of society, champagne was drunk and backs were patted all around, everyone involved got a warm fuzzy feeling inside for supporting the arts. It's likely the cars would have never passed inspection for the road in Germany anyway. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.
