Owner lives in Florida, Bus lives in Chicago
Yeah, I wouldn't want to be anywhere near it, either. _________________ -Thom

That bus must be be really nice then - if you applied that formula to most restored busses the owners would need to pay you to haul them away. |

With what looks like, at a quick glance, around $1,500,000.00 worth of stock up for sale, there probably is a bit of room to move here. |

Interesting! they said it is located in Chicago. Never saw it at any local show and I got to most of them. You'd think they would promote it if they wanted to sell it. |
they were probably laughed out of a show several years ago and never returned to them
btw this has been up for sale before a few times I remember seeing that ugly ass interior before |
Yeah, I think they were asking for like $125K last time it was listed. |

While there is obviously a lot of wrong details for stock I am very impressed with the attention to detail in this bus. I think the level of detail is far superior than most buses I have seen here in a long time. Not stock details but metal fit, paint, interior, engine compartment, etc.
If you can get over this not being bone stock and look at the build quality it is impressive. Who ever built this had a vision and really put some time and care into this bus.
I think at $40k this would be a great bus for a non-vw purist who wanted a very high quality bus. |

Very well said, I have seen this bus in person. It is as legit as you can get as far as the quality level. No corners cut. At no time did the ad mention it was a factory correct stock bus. Is it priced a little high? Probably, but it says best offer, its America, make an offer. I would be stoked to drive it. _________________ ~slovolks~ |

I agree, it looks super clean and nice. Some stuff is not to my style as it's custom but there are some things I like. For instance, the rear deck mat.
Plus it has what's becoming the new standard for top dollar Bus sales - the gas door is open.
You thought popping both front doors meant the seller meant business?
Not any more! It's all about the popped gas door now, people. Take note.

Pending at 25k http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=1629516
makes me want to throw out my 63 w/t bus and see what happens. 38k orig miles documented on jack stands really since 74. It's complete down to middle seat kick panel original nice interior. Hmmmm? I thought 10-15k for 15w was the going rate but I guess now 25k and up the prices keep going it's actually pretty crazy now.
I would not even open the barn though for 25k though if that's what these are really bringing who's knows what they really sell for
Off they will sit.
