69 grand buys you a brandnew corvette, with enough money left over to buy a reasonably priced bus _________________ regards

Looks like the 1 from a new show called Chrome Underground. If thats the same 1 then it was bought in Brazil and thats the buyers shop name in Texas too |

Looks like one on those south african or brazilian mid 70's 15w buses that someone made into a 23w |
I agree, the cargo door inner handles give this away. |
I spit cheeseburger on my screen laughing when I read this disingenuous gem in the description though:

In stock form this microbus came equipped with a 1.6 liter flat-four cylinder engine, producing 47 horsepower, backed by a four-speed manual transmission. However, the engine is this example is a completely rebuilt Volkswagen 1600 cc flat four engine, fitted with a fully synchronized four-speed manual transmission. |

2nd vote for this ^^^. I can't believe that unfinished custom thing is worth anything close to that. If the show depicts any reality- It was bought for closer to $30,000 IIRC. _________________

it'll be that bus, I'm pretty sure.
I remember looking at the show and ended up thinking that buyer really overpaid that bus. He got hussled big time.
That turd has no Original/historical value at all, it's just a 70's Brazilian kombi with roof clip in a hidious kolor. 20k should be more then enough for that bus. |

I can't see it going for that much but it looks pretty nice in the limited photos.
That door handle should not be in that position - something is wrong.
The clock looks like an earlier clock to me - no adjustment knob on the face? |
I like 15 window buses, but do not have my finger on the pulse of the 15 window market. It seems high to me as well.
However, the ad is now inactive. Did it sell for 70K? I do not know.
Maybe the erect door handles in this bus are evening out the limp door handles on the other buses recently discussed. |

What is a real giveaway is the fact there is NO sunroof. The windows are just put in the roof with no inner support. On the show the rear windows looked all wierd with the seal looking all puffy and not flush with the roof/glass.
Did the late fleetlines come with m code tags? |
It has been said and possibly proven that 23 windows were available minus the sunroof for rainy climates...a couple years ago there was a thread depicting 1 in Thailand I think...ultimately anything you wanted to order, I've gotten the impression VW would do...however, I don't think this is one of those elusive buses... _________________ 1960 L31 M183 kombi |

I don't think this was true anymore by the time they got to the fleetline ones
all the ones I have seen were pretty much the same other then color
but i'm sure someone more knowledgeable on those buses can confirm or correct this _________________ '60 15 window walkthrough

Not right for a '59 DC either, obviously. |
Me thinks $30 is pushing the high end Ev. |
