How many wrong things on this wrongstored "show quality" turd? I'll start the ball rolling with a half dozen offensive observations of note:
1) Bug wheels not bus, radial tires, no logos on hubcaps
2) Pop outs are wrong direction and there are eight of them
3) Wrong seats and wrong grab bar on middle seat, heat pressed seams not sewn seams
4) No arm rests or rear deluxe cargo bar on back seat or brackets to hold seat back up
5) No rear carpet or vinyl material over gas filler neck, no coat hooks
6) Wrong ancillaries on engine, ie: carb, air cleaner, distributor, voltage regulator, fresh air tube clamps etc.
Was it even a 23 window deluxre to start with, or a converted panel? No vent trim holes in the rear louvers, no cargo rocker spears, no bumper trim. OK, let's build a list and hopefully this clown will go back to building "tribute Camaros" and leave the bus scene to bus people. |
Relisted today... For $70k more!! |
Weird, he changed the price yesterday then deleted it.
I don't think the price was actually raised, I think he just did that before removing it for whatever reason. |
It still shows as active for $169k on my iPhone ebay app.. Anyway, doesn't matter, it isn't worth half of that (at least to critical eyes). |
What does your iPhone eBay App have to do with a Bus listed on this site? |
The funny part about the seller was he supposedly lives in SoCal but had a Texas phone number, similar to a previous clownish seller with Samba name: Chipperdude. I wondered if it was the same guy running under a different user name. |

(Apologies for the thread drift) Judging by how excited both my pre-teen nephews are about split screens, I think there is an ongoing market unlike that for most classics, hotrods etc. They don't care what model of split screen, it's something about the 'face'.
I have a feeling that there is something about that shape in particular that appeals to little kids in a way that hotrods/muscle cars, model Ts etc can't. Eventually they will grow up and have money to spend on the things they wanted when they were little too. |
Totally agree! My 2, 4, & 6 yr old love em. They have character that a 63 Corvette doesn't. Not many will go to scrap nowadays, that's the fun part. |
but your kids are around them which gets them interested in cars that's the point of the hot rod programs so you can make future buyers and sellers and keep the interest alive and growing but as each gen goes there is far less fewer and fewer that care believe it or not. just drive by a high school and you see. your kids may like them now and you want them to like them now, but they might not like them when they are older you never know. my parents took me and my brother to tons of cars shows in the 80's and early 90's but my brother really doesn't care much about them now. he would rather drive his minivan with AC and tv's and comfy seats that recline, than drive around in a bus that drives like a bread wagon with no air and your back hurts from being hunched over driving for hours on the highway if you're a tall person.
some parents only think about safety so when your kids are old enough to drive they have airbags and seatbelts. my parents let me drive a 57 chevy belair to high school with no seat belts at all and drum brakes. _________________ "asking and getting are two different things" |

It doesn't mean anything these days, people move and keep their same cell #.
It could be a flag but only in addition to other flags. _________________ How to Post Photos

..you use your ears for the right 'bacon sizzle' but closing your eyes is taking it a bit far...mind you, would explain some of the welding I've seen... |

This just struck me as funny - is this a posed photo, or is he about to hit that weld with his mask on the ground? (with the mask looking right back at him "don't you need me?"):

this is not a mask, this is an early iron man prototype head _________________ regards

That's awesome, some friends and I (yes I have a couple) were just teasing friend number three for his mig weld-assisted sunburned eyelids last Thursday. He's on this site, in fact probably just received a "hitest is typing" alert on his PC... _________________

I remember lots of videos on the Metwiz site showing him welding with no mask and his eyes closed. I have tried it myself but found better results could be yielded with my eyes open. |

I like this part:
"Metal work is being handled by Ovtavio's Restoration, so you know it is being done right."
So I guess only welding the cargo floor in halfway is the new "right"? I can't believe that people are still using klokkerholm metal these days either, with the stuff that's available. Especially on a $45k project.
