Sorry I can't post a pic but who noticed the front cargo door is high hinge and the rear is low hinge?
No mention in the ad why, I am sure they have only had the bus long enough to clean up and flip. Maybe they didn't notice it either. |

I didn't see that as I was going over these lines in my head, "There are four original 1967 vw bug wheels that are on the bus. Those are all original painted and have a value in themselves."
I thought that is a good attempt at selling a bad point, bug wheels. |

I like this part:
"Metal work is being handled by Ovtavio's Restoration, so you know it is being done right."
So I guess only welding the cargo floor in halfway is the new "right"? I can't believe that people are still using klokkerholm metal these days either, with the stuff that's available. Especially on a $45k project.
|
I never would have caught that. And it's a job I've done myself. On the other hand, I think it will be just fine. That floor isn't going anywhere. Still a good catch though. _________________ 53 Hatch Barndoor

IMHO if you are going to make a shorty, keeping one cargo door is the way to go. It looks so much better.
Still I wouldn't do it. |

I can't understand the reason for shortening a bus or single cab? What's to gain by doing it? It is what it is, if the right person buys it it could be un-done.
I guess the stock fuel pump makes as good of a block off plate as one of that's actually made for the purpose. What is the wood by the battery for? Is that undercoating on he engine lid or rust? maybe abit of both. Fixing some of this as well as a good steam cleaning/detailing would go along way toward making it more presentable and help with the sale. |

The wood block is a 2x4 wedged in place to hold the battery. Classy. At least I use a bungee cord, preferably a black one so it's hard to see. _________________ nothing |

Here's a sunroof bus project for sale today on C-list . . . http://goldcountry.craigslist.org/cto/4741909016.html
Someone probably just needs to wire a reasonable cash deposit to secure the deal!!!!
See more picks of the bus here . . . http://www.vwsage.com/date/2006/04
Some people!
Thank Everett for teaching me about "GOOGLE" search on photos!!! _________________ Jesucristo es mi Seņor y Salvador! |

149500 for a VW bus ??? I know you are just an ad broker but I think if I were Everett I might charge by the list price, like 1%
Oh yeah, if you are going to say no-lowballers, you can't list your price as "OBO"
Whine over. _________________ .ssS! |

I think that there is little doubt that the ad is a scam!!!! That's why I linked the blog of The Sage.

Very neat/nice/clean bus... But if you're, "just testing the waters"... They're pretty cold
http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=1712556
The reality of the restoration hobby, particularly a car that's nowhere near stock, is that you (likely) will never get anywhere close to what you put into it. Just part of the game. Sorry. |
