Wow, that thing has a bulbous nose. Looks a little like the "new VW bus" rendition from a decade ago.
With that plug missing from the big hole in the rear of the "new" carburetor, even if it does fire up it won't run for long. _________________ nothing |

What are we making note of here? Short dash, bulbous what? I'm staring at the picture, and not seeing the definitive issue beyond the usual rust and deterioration. Is the steering wheel off center and bent? |

In the quoted photo, the dash area near the ash tray is bent downward toward the bumper due to an accident and I'm sure the grill area of the dash is bend inwards toward the passenger compartment . Also the brow area above the windscreens looks off somehow.

The Jacksonville Craigslist ad for that bus also jumped up from this morning from 6k to 9k;
It was also listed as a 68 bus! _________________ "My other car is a VW"

I was wondering that too.
I'd like to see the underside/frame of this thing.
Something is way off in the photos - It looks like a Bus that is about to snap in 1/2 or just generally fall apart if you hit a bump in the road. _________________ How to Post Photos

The ad is pending now, but look at the side shot of that bus. The nose bulges out several inches over a stock bus. It has been damaged severely and grossly mis-repaired. It is a giant steaming turd of a VW crew cab. _________________ nothing |

The whole nose is sculpted. Including the roof!
The dash is bent down, and the nose it pushed in. _________________ I make HWE style roof racks, Jim-Dandy racks, SO-33 metal parts, Dormobile racks, HWE style ladders, engine crank start handles, Westy rack tags, Binz tags, Sundial badges, State of California tags, steering lock electrical covers and single / double cab gate latch friction blocks.

Interesting. I can see the issues now that it is pointed out. You guys have the calibrated eye to spot stuff like this, amazing.
I'm still learning to eye ball these things in the pictures. |

I never questioned that the bus had issues. The nose and dash stuff, I did not see at first.
But for $6k, what it was originally posted for, it seemed like a pretty good deal. Hidden issues or not. The price was changed to $9k after he was probably flooded with interest. And it probably sold for something close to that now too. Was it worth the $6k bent up? To alot of people, I am sure it was, issues or not. $9K? Not so much... |

I picked up my DC from the classifieds here for $6700. It was not perfect and had had work done, but overall is solid and was complete.
There are still decent deals out there, that kicked in nose DC looked like it was worth about $1000 _________________ Matt Johnson

I realize the pricing of split windows is a wildly subjective topic...However, I just wanted to get some opinions anyway. I am in the market and would like to pick up a split window at a reasonable price. I have been watching the classifieds religiously for the past several months and on and off for years. I have seen, as most of you have, a ton of buses listed and it seems a lot of folks are smoking some serious Kind. Buses seem to move fairly rapidly when they are priced $15k-$25K range if they are in decent condition but seem to languish when priced above (unless they are "museum quality") and in that case are out of 95% of our collective Sambians price ranges.
I guess my question is, "Has the peak of the price wave been reached?" _________________ 69 Sunroof Deluxe - Montana Red/Cloud White (Sold)
