The auction is about to end, and whatever the price is will be "what it's worth". But this thing is full of bondo, you can see rust through in the underside shots, and the treasure chest floor is a sheet of diamond plate. Corners were obviously cut, and the new owner might be in for a big surprise.

The color is a matter of taste and the wheels/tires are shiny things to attract buyers, but are easy to change.
Why does the ad say "bring a trailer?" Freshly rebuilt motor doesen't run?

Reserve was not met at 20k. I think you would be crazy to not take 20k for that hideous truck. That color makes my eyes hurt.

I agree on the truck, but Bring a Trailer is the website that ran the auction. Check out the site, it's a lot of fun.
I'm not sure "bring a trailer" is the strongest choice for a company name; unless you are operating a junk yard. Since we are talking about that truck it could be a junk yard.

Me too, but be careful, it is the internet afterall, take some of the "helpful" tips offered on that truck's page for example. Confused I may not know alot about some other makes but I know a little about VW's, if the other ones are similar I'll confirm everything through a reliable outside source before taking it as gospel.

Very true. But it is obvious when someone with real knowledge of any given car steps in and provides good info.

I agree - I read that site sometimes, usually when VWs are there, and the VW conversations are often full of dumb opinions and "facts" but also people who clearly know what they are talking about.

I assume it's similar for other makes too but I don't really read those comments, I mostly just like to learn about other unique vehicles.

I see your hinge is there... maybe I'm confused... I thought the "hinge carrier" was the part carrying the hinge (part the hinge attaches to). Sometimes the terminology gets the best of me:

The hinge carrier adds no value. The person who needs that piece has bigger problems, and is unlikely to be spending $300 for a rear hatch. It might actually devalue the piece because shipping will be higher. I think $300 is top dollar. $450 is insane, maybe if someone was super desperate for one in that color and there were no others for sale, maybe, maybe, someone would make an offer on it.

Rear hatches sell super slow at $150-$200, even in original paint. People just don't need them all that often.

Agree.

I have a Mango hatch I would sell for $200 - that seems like top dollar to me. No hinge carrier though, haha.

Seller should have dropped the reserve and run as fast as they could with the money.

I changed it.
I have been editing these when I see them without "Brazilian" in the title.
