Well after suveying the damage in the daylight, it is bad but not a complete loss. I do need a bumper blade and passenger side bracket, a euro H4 headlight assembly, a turnsignal and lense, and I am still looking for a windshield. Tram said he has one but its a six hour drive to get there and that would suck with no glass on the way down. So thanks to everyone for the help so far. It never ceases to amaze me how our t3 guys come together to help out. I just wanna get teh thing back on the road, y'know? _________________ Jim in Sacto -

I have a front clip for a '69 in Iowa. The fenders might need a little work, but there is very little rust, in the clip itself. _________________ Society is like stew. If you don't keep it stirred up, you end up with a lot of scum on the top!--Edward Abbey

My body-guy seems to think the clip is gonna work out. He says he has seen much worse. maybe now will be a good time to do all the other odds and ends and do a full paint job before the invasion this summer. _________________ Jim in Sacto -

Do you need the true H4 or a standard Euro assembly? The H4 is marked "H4" right in the center of the glass, and the glass does not have as much of a dome as the standard euro assembly. If you need a standard assembly, I can help now. If you need an H4 assembly, you'll have to wait until my fat a$$ed sister-in-law gets her crap out of my garage so I can find it. I have a spare H4 unit with Hella glass (when I'm able to get to it) and a spare standard euro unit with Bosch glass.
What side Turn Signal do you need? _________________

Sorry to hear Jimmy! Shit does happen though. I would say that this is a fine time to nut up and fix it nice. After its done deliberatly scratch the paint somewhere. This is a guarenteed to cast the demons out prior to driving it. _________________

I think I will be able to track down a front bumper blade, but now I am having trouble finding a passenger side bracket and overrider. I have the Flat4 towel-bar kit and the bars are salvageable, but apparently, Flat4 does not exist anymore. Does anyone have a clue where I can track down a Flat4 overrider? _________________ Jim in Sacto -

I know this doesn't help too much but it does look like Flat4 is around.. at least in Japan. I think MoonEyes just stopped distributing the parts here in the US? Does anybody know if Flat4 has a new distributor here?

I should have searched more before I posted.
Looks like CIP1 up in Washington distributes Flat4 products here. I found the front overrider set that you need.

Hope that helps. _________________ '54 Kombi | '57 356 Coupe | '57 Samba | '62 Notchback | '63 Beetle (36k Original Miles) | '66 Pigalle Sunroof Squareback | '70 Westy |

I have a 66 that's a total parts car - just missing the front windshield...as I'm new to the T3 scene, I don't know what if anything will work for ya, but let me know if I can give you anything off the car. It's got the bumpers, etc....

So I got a perfect front fender from a 67. I hate to cut the side marker hole and drill out the trim clip hole since it is a one year only from a square or fasty. If anyone has a good early fender and wants to trade... I remember trying to find '67 stuff (doors and pass-side fender) and it aint getting easier.
Front apron is coming back to shape though I am still considering chopping it off and replacing it with a perfect one. I got a hood with the larger mustache, so that will have to be changed as well. I think the hinge on the passenger side is tweaked so I may have to find one of those now.
In any event, its gonna be a while before Maggy will look right. It makes me sick, but I am trying not to be discouraged. _________________ Jim in Sacto -

Okay, don't laugh at me but isn't an early type lll the same, I guess I am asking if an early square front end would work for a notch. If so, Jimmy, over here in Kingston there is an early square at Jim's wrecking yard on Stottlemeyer Rd. He is reasonable on parts. PM me if you want to come over.

Are the hinges the same new style to old style? If so I have one of those as well.
Will let you know details on the WS tomorrow. _________________ Немає виправдання для війни! Я з Україною.

o have pics of the carnage, but for some reason my computer won't recognize my camera. As she sits now, there is no hood, no winshield, and no bumper. I did bolt up the passenger side fender to get a look at how f**ked up the apron is. Its has a long way to go before it is straight. _________________ Jim in Sacto -
