Alabama Shakes Boys and Girls. I'm late to the game with them, I first saw them on SNL last month. They are the most refreshing band I've heard in a long time. I can't stop listening to them.

I caught wind of them last fall. Incredible voice. Occasionally, if one or all of us in the house have had a bad day, we crank up some Alabama Shakes and dance around the house. Always makes us feel better.
Hold On is there big single hit, and they have a cover of Zep's "How many more times" that is excellent. _________________ nothing |

It was the post below by Toolbox which introduced me to Death. I thought somehow these dudes had just escaped my understanding for many years.
Yesterday though saw a documentary on the band. "A Band Called Death". Impressive documentary, with some crazy twists., and heartwarming.
Their album "For the whole world to see" released after 30+ years in an attic has been playing all day.

They had right up to the screaming. I have to say I am getting sick of hearing so many new bands try to one-up each other with how hard the vocalist can scream an entire song. I'm over it. _________________ nothing |

If you can dig the music and the screaming is not your thing you should listen to Russian Circles its all instrumental

Besides being into old 50's rock and doo wop.. every once in awhile will listen to noisy messy old 70's/early 80's Punk when the mood strikes.
Kind of been digging around for old bands from New Orleans punk era.

Newer stuff by 'Real Numbers'. Don't know anything about 'em but find their sound fairly decent.
