I have a 66 Squareback. I just got it out of a lot that has had it for a year now. It lived at my old house in the garage, and I just cleaned out the garage at my new house for it. They drove it to my house, and I noticed that it had a much worse smell than it ever had before. It is a mix of its normal smell plus a gasoline smell. Does anyone know why this is happening or how it can be fixed. It smells up the whole house it is so bad. I don't want to have to store it, so I need help. |

Check for leaky fuel lines, around the engine as well as around the gas tank and under the rear of the car.

Check those fuel lines immediatly. They can corrode and start leaking, which can cause major nightmares if not addressed. _________________ '54 Kombi | '57 356 Coupe | '57 Samba | '62 Notchback | '63 Beetle (36k Original Miles) | '66 Pigalle Sunroof Squareback | '70 Westy |

Especially if you have a hot water tank where the car is or any kinda pilot light.
