Awesome rides! I like the dash panel in the blue buggy with the brow over the speedo. Does the body kit not come with a fiberglass dash panel?
Dan,
Just say you've got your MT Manx for sale? What gives...that would be like selling one of my children for me. |
The dash is a new item and it is sold separate
Yes I'm selling the First Mid-Travel Manx we built but I'm starting to build a new one with a Subaru motor. |

Steveowe,
What's with the Signtek insignia on the forward skid plate? You figure out some way of making that thing a tax right off or something? I get it, it's a promotional vehicle that way |

I have posted in the Fiberglass/buggy section about these.
How does everyone that owns one like them? Any Video's of them through the rough?
and last but not least, know of any for sale? perferably a-arm, motor doesnt matter but vw rates higher in my book |

I purchased one of MGM's bodies, and fabbed my own cage. I am taking it down to Superstition this weekend for the test run. If you go to Youtube and search Orange County Sandcars, they have a promo video of their car, which is the same body, same cage that Dansparts sells.
I will get some video this weekend of my run and post it. I have done almost everything myself on this car, and I am into it for around $8500, not bad for what I ended up with.

Dirtbug,
Awesome job on the buggy. Some exceptional work there. Do you have a build thread for the buggy? Must be a great feeling to finally have it rolling. |

Nice work Dirtbug.
I also got one from MGM back in May of 2007 and am getting close to finnish it just got a couple of little odds and ends to iron out and electrical as well. I"ve did the work myself as well, but not the cage and Subaru engine. alot of learning curves along the way but well worth it. I've taken alot of pics along the way and well post my manx build later.

I like the white body and I'm not a big fan of white cars. Are you planning on covering the chopped glass like Dan's car? I think that these buggy frames and bodies from MGM are the slickest looking rides out there. |

yes I'm going with sides like dan's car. have not made up my mind yet if to paint the sides gray or silver with the cage the same color, that's going to be alot of work to tear the buggy apart and put it back together.
or just go with polished/metal looking sides, some stickers and leave the cage the way it is. then maybe later after I get bored I'll tear it down and paint it.
they are nice buggy's, but what sold me was street legal. |

Thanks for the positive input. I actually drove it on Sat. I now have to work the bugs out before I go pound it off road. _________________ 1959 Type 1 - Owned since 1983

Keep the pictures comeing, the cars are looking great!!!
Somebody asked how many of these there are out there, so I did some counting, and I am pretty sure we have about 55 body kits, and around 30 chassis kits out there now. I'm not sure how many are complete, but I'm pretty sure abou the quantity. |

a little over a 2 year period, but this does not include standard bodies, short bodies, and monster bodies. |
