Is it best practice to put a gasket/permatex between the manifold and a Kadron carb?

Just the gasket. No sealant of any kind. Be sure the mating surfaces are truly flat. I use a big ass mill file and run it across the surface several times!

What Jimbo said. You can use chapstick on the gasket to help it seal. And release from the intake manifold/carb. When you need to do some work on them later.
