Hats off to you for the score on the Ghia and offering to let the mat be molded. |

Yes, I do plan to make it - and I am ready to get going, now that I have restored my house.

Again, this will be a major challenge, so let's hope for the best. It is - by no means - a done deal. Despite of what I wrote previously, I still have some minor remodeling to do on my house. ( Remoldoling old house's are SO much like restoring vintage cars - there is always something more to do, or you will run into the unexpected.)
Money is tight - I also have very late orders and those need to take top priority.
I am approaching the bulkhead project as an art endevour. I am working on a prototype mold as time permits. I still have Chris's mat - I have to get that back to him, but if he will be kind enough Chris would allow it - I would like to hold onto it until I have the prototype ready. My lofty goal is to have at least one example by spring.
I am still very excited about this.
Then, I will be on the hunt for some NOS sill mats for the final look!

Someone was nice enough to lend me what I think is probably the very best bulkhead mat I have seen - I will send pics later - I am at work - and super busy as usual.
I am 99% sure these mats will be made. |

As mentioned, here are a few pics of the mat - I just placed it on a clip to admire it's beauty and check for fit:

Beautiful! That's exciting news. Keep up the good work. Will you make them grey like that? I have always like the brown colored rubber you see in some of the old Beetles too. |
