Those assistants look great. I seen one online the other night and now I've been searching for the last 3 days to find one here in the states for sale. This would be nice for me to use at work. If anyone is looking to part with one I might be interested. |

Well after looking all weekend. No luck on finding one here in the US. I found a knock off but they will not ship overseas. I really want one of these for work. So the search continues. |

I'm now waiting for my "new" Assistent bought from an old mechanic (it's in the mail). He told me that he got it in the 70's. I only got this one picture of the cart. But looking in old catalogues and reading on this forum, I see that the 166 TS from the 70's should have had a grey top trey, this one is black. Can anyone tell me if this is a 70's model or something else?

Well, it seems that either itīs got a new top one day or itīs a very late model that got a black top. The last 166 TS I found in a brochure was from 1979.
The 166 N with collapsible pillars replaced the 166 TS in the beginning of the 1980s. |

The seller claims it has been sitting in his garage since 1977, when he stopped using it. _________________ Current:

I can only tell you what I know of the old papers:
Down on the right it says "Printed in Germany 1077" The last two numbers are always the year. |

Very cool thread. I signed up just to show you my Assistent.
It's a early 80's/90's 166N with the collapsible pillars (I like this one the best):
Here's a comparison with a replica. Not as high and not collapsible:

Wow, $1100,-?! In Germany they sell a 166N for 450,- new ($615,-). I bought a good second hand for a whole lot less! |

The Assistent is now in my garage
The top has been re-painted with a dark grey color. The original is light grey, as in the catalogue.
The previous owner bought it in 1971, so it's a genuine veteran Assistent.
It's in good shape, the only thing missing are the keys. Does anybody know if the keys are specific for each Assistent, or if one key fits all 166TS'.
Does anyone have a key I can buy, or know where I can get one? _________________ Current:
