Hello
I just saw the advert from Spandau :
I think it is plain lie ...
You have a "cheap" copy of an original Hazet Assistent .
I just hope you didn't pay the asking price ... Confused

What is Hazet round?

The Hazet round tool box mounts in the center of the spare tire.

Are you sure or just assume. I am sure its produced by Hazet for Siemens. Not under the Hazet label, but in their factorys, they had to have some distinctions because they were not for normal sale.

I just sold the orange one today, a shop owner wanted it, as decoration.

And I bought a original Hazet Assistant today, think its in a good shape what do you think, one rubber is missing, just ordered one original today, from Hazet.

There is absolutely no rust, that is pretty good, one of the corners has got little hit, but thats not so important, everything is working really good, opening, closing is pretty fine, also the lock works great. Its a little bit dirty but I wil clean it.

What do you think about the condition , do you like it, do you want it Smile

I think this one is a special one, it says Made in W.Germany, it is a Cold War witness. When Germany was divided, today its just Made in Germany. W. Germany means Western Germany.

So the Assistent is at least from 1989 or older , so at least 26 years old, very good condition for this age.

You should try to sell your stuff under the "Classifieds" area.

Thanks for the advise, but I am also interested in opinions, its really interesting, does the Hazet Assistant from 1990 has something different written on it, maybe just Made in Germany?

This Made in W. Germany writing is a good method to estimate the age of a Hazet Assistant, otherwise there is no build year on the Assistant.

Well yes indeed. They changed it to "Made in Germany".

So your model was built between 1985 - 1990 and got the number 162N.

Before 1985 the top tray was grey, the 166N with folding pillars already black.

And you can lift the trays in two steps. Smile

Thanks a lot,

and you are right, I can lift it in two steps, there is a grip to unlock on each platform. I really love details and differences they fascinate me.

You think this is better, but its interesting, so the other ones just have one grip to unlock?

You´re welcome.

The two step mechanism was introduced in 1982, so the older ones have to be pulled up at once.

Hi Mr.Hazet Wink

Your Hazet Assi Popular 16 is from about 1977. "Popular" was once a cheaper line of only a few products inside Hazet, as a lug wheel or an also yellow colored socket/ratchet box.

The Mini-Assi 160 was developed out of the Popular 16 obviously, but I don´t know if they were offered parallel...

Nice collection of rare Assistents by the way!

No problem Wink

Well that´s still an unknown for me, but I´m trying to find out.

The production of it last several years - the Mini-Assi 160 was presented in 1980 - so probably until 1979/80, but that´s speculation...

Also the whole "Popular"-line I like to research sometime.

Arrived today Hazet Catalog 1979 it looks like New

In the 1979 Catalog are nothing about the Popular series, the Hazet Mini Assi 16 also not inside.

Is the Popular Tools only 1977 documented, short try from Hazet and directly stopped after a year, then all Popular tools are very rar?

Cool a NOS catalog Smile

"Popular" was a seperate series with a seperate catalog or only a brochure. It never got in the main catalog.

I assume it last around 5 years or so, have to check. Every once in a while there is some of it on ebay, mostly lug wrenches:
