A small task that has been on my list. I converted my small 1962 front turn signals to a double prong socket. This way I can use a double filament bulb and have both a running light and a brighter turn signal light. I used the 1967 socket base (plastic part with two prongs and two spade terminals) and inserted them in my smaller turnsignal base/bulb holder. I wanted to keep the period look as well as gain the running light. |
Did you check to see if the double base lamp will fit into the housing? The double base bulbs usually have the side nubs on the base at 2 different heights so the bulb only goes in one way. I think you will have to mod the base too. _________________

Built a new intake to replace the German FI plenum.
IAT, Water injection, and vac/boost reference bungs installed with the original German Throttle body used and custom throttle return spring from a Pict34-3.
A good eye can see the linkage parts I scammed from a Pict34 to eliminate the secondary linkage of the stock German throttle linkage assembly.

Tune up day! It's been running all along but has been cutting out and just worrying me a bit. Replaced pretty much everything from points to plugs. Runs great and now if I can find a couple tires for the back I'll be ready to take a little trip and see how it does. Maybe a run to Pismo or Morro Bay! |

what I've been trying to do for the past few days, is figuring a way to mount the damn fuel tank in order to work under the fiber like it should
I don't know how did they project the fiber to receive the fuel cell, but it was not with the normal tank, I cut it flip it weld it, seems this is the only way it fits under the fiber
new hole for the filler neck next to the old one

Put gear oil for the 1st time in over 25 years(no Joke).1)spray penitrating oil and let it set overnite and. 2) made my own tool to take out the plug.(see pic) 3.) find a 17mm head of the bolt. 4.) find two 5/8 nuts. 5.)align the nuts and then JB Weld them to gether.
By doing this you wont have to spend the ridiculous amount of money for 17mm Tool.

Nice idea Bob!
I used to have one of the original engine oil and transmission plug tools with a dogleg in it for the trans axle plug but lost it. I just have the stupid single purpose hex socket now. I like your idea better. |

Tom, Nicely done. Paint is cool.. from the pics looks 'just blue' from a distance, but pretty of crystal up close.
The oil cooler is a little scary to my eye. (I tend to break things..)

Thanks Jim! The oil filter will get moved when we make a rear bumper/skid plate setup for it after Big Bear. I hope I got the "old school" look correct. Tom _________________ Manxter #16, 1968 Meyers Manx & Kick-Out SS #16 (WIP)

Farmer John - the plan is to do Carlisle & the East Coast Visits West Coast run with this car. I wanted to do the Sea 2 Sea run with it, but transaxle problems screwed that one up. Tom _________________ Manxter #16, 1968 Meyers Manx & Kick-Out SS #16 (WIP)

finally finished the support for the fuel tank, and it turned out to be the brake oil reservoir support as well as the horn mounting place
it's summer time in Portugal and I'm far from going for a drive

I installed a battery hold down. Incredibly, the PO had the battery just sitting in the well under the back seat, held in only by the cables and some carpeting. I installed a pair of stainless steel footman loops secured with bolts and fender washers, and strapped the battery down with a KevLok battery hold down strap that I replaced on my boat for cosmetic reasons. I also hard wired the quick connect pigtail for my trickle charger.

Got a pair of tires for a recent birthday gift from my wife and daughters.
Had a set of stock wheels widened to 10".
