Something a little different. Since I have soooooo much Fiberglass to repair, I am going to do one thread on just the body repairing. It will show my methods, (most of which came from Vince, surfnc, teaching me) on minor to major fiberglass work. Hopefully this may help some people on the fence about working on their projects and be less intimidated by the task.

Absolutely can't wait to see this one. You've seen Loretta, so you know why.

Especially since I didn't make it up to MOTB in time for Vince's seminar.

Tonight I ran the new fuel line, and hard brake lines. The front end of the pan is done. I'm just waiting on new transmission mounts to finish the rear. Then I can bleed the brakes and mount the body.

Ordered a set of 40X37.5 DRD heads for my turbo engine.

It will be interesting to see what change that makes to the engine...... Wink

Over the past two days I've been able to get the wheels back on, and mock up the body to the pan. Hopefully tomorrow I can work on mounting my seats. I can't do it at night because my kids room is right above the garage. WHO PUTS A BEDROOM OVER A GARAGE?!?!

While looking into why the clutch wouldn't work properly I discovered that I have an exchange AM 1600cc engine from an unknown year paired with a '65 transaxle that belongs with a 1200 all on a '68 chassis. I also have no idea what year the rascal body is from. I was going to keep it red when I paint it this spring but now I am thinking green and have someone do some artwork to truly make it my Frankenbuggy.

Installing turbo #3 for testing to see if I get better performance than with my old turbo.
This one is just a little larger and about 16 years newer in technology so maybe it will go..... Cool Laughing

The '59 pan got re-worked. While I was welding, I had an idea...
This concept will look great in the Bushwhacker SS!
Lots of measuring, geometry, and moving stuff, but...
The "zip" shifter is installed and working great!
I chopped the shaft about 3 inches to get the knob sitting right where I like it.
The aluminum top plate I made is just a little too soft. The 1/3 gate gets bent a little shifting hard from 2nd to 3rd.
We tried it with a short throw kit, but the stock shifter seems to be the way to go for fit and function.
Stainless steel top plates soon to be water jetted!
Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

Due to angles, the shifter bar is not ever coming out! Good thing there's an adjuster on it!

I finished cutting and drilling all the pieces to mount my seats. Hopefully this week I can get back out there and actually bolt them down.
