Not too hard if you want to hang a 480 pound lump off the back of a 1600 pound car. Great for swapping ends on a corner.

Automotive artist Dave 'Gig' Deal had a turbo 911-powered Manx back in the day....I'd say it's possible. It's just far from practical. _________________ Organized people are just too lazy to look for stuff

Sure, you can do it and here's a vintage example that was for sale just last year. But can you pick a more expensive engine?

Your better off throwing a turbo Suburu at it. You would be way ahead in dollar per HP and it would last much longer too.

I have been tossing that idea around for my next buggy, even a non turbo Subie would be nice...although I'd need a transaxle that won't explode in the first mile I drive.
(I'll admit I'm not too knowledgeable in the trans department) _________________ They call me James... |

I have a friend that has been running an EMPI IMP w/twin turbo Subi on a built VW swing axle trans for 3 years now, with no issues.
He autocrosses, drives it on the street and in the dunes with paddles on it.

I looked long and hard at running a Subie motor (even bought an EJ20TT). One issue that wasn't fun was running/building the cooling system. Another pesky point was the ECU issues. It is all do-able, but takes more time and money than is obvious at the start.
If I were to go back and try again, I'd simply buy a done turn-key Subaru engine here:

If you stay with an older Porsche engine, issues like the ECU and water cooling don't exist. _________________ 2027cc Dual 2 Barrell Carb Rice Eater
