Well yeah, but .... does it have a title??? |
When you buy a sawzall at Home Depot, they give you a certificate to buy untitled buses. With the purchase of a 25 pack of metal blades, you get a free generator rental certificate.

I agree. If I had a complete, rust-bucket 13 window, I'd be all over that thing like a fat kid on a donut! _________________ -Greg |

I emailed them this morning...got a prompt reply stating their inbox had been overwhelmed with offers up $6K and that the bus was going to the highest offer... _________________

Here in California, that is alot of rust. That's why "Rust in the usual places " doesn't tell us anything. _________________ BUS BOYZ |

I guess you really cant blame them. It's not like I wouldn't turn down 6 times my asking price for something.
Maybe this is the way to do it ask way less than its worth and wait for the vultures to swoop in and create a bidding frenzy.
Much better exposure here than in the whines thread. _________________ Looking for anything from Hal Casey Motors out of Hamburg New York, from license plate surrounds to matchbooks.

Based on the description, it's missing over half of it's Westy interior (Closet, jump seat and fridge, some tables?) and without any pictures of those pieces he has you cant really evaluate their condition. A Westy without it's interior takes a big hit in value so I don't see this one being close to $15k. Not to mention all those other Westy bits that are hard to find and cost $$$. Also, no pics of the mcode plate and/or VIN proving its an SO 42 tin top is worrisome. Lastly, what's with the custom vent on the driver side long wall? I see a hole on the rear for the plug but for a 67 that should be on the drivers side long wall.
Lot's of odd things with this one. _________________ RPM=(MPH*336* (R&P*4th*1.26))/Tire Diameter in inches |

Did all Westy's have the tent mounts on the roof? Don't see them on that one. _________________ -Adam

Nope, depends on how it was ordered. If he posted the mcode plate it would answer a lot of questions and help sell the bus. _________________ RPM=(MPH*336* (R&P*4th*1.26))/Tire Diameter in inches |

Since it's a tin top and there are no tent mounts visible it should have A42 on the mcode plate:
A42 SO-42 Westfalia interior, no exterior fitments _________________ RPM=(MPH*336* (R&P*4th*1.26))/Tire Diameter in inches |

It's a real westy. He lives right around the corner from me. I'll let him know the mcode would help confirm this. He's had it awhile and the previous owner put that silly vent in the side for a ventilation fan. It really is a nice rig. |
