The today in bus hunting thread is the same way.
It's a pretty amazing difference from page 1 to the last page. _________________ WANTED:

The intent of this thread has changed. At the start it was guys posting what deals they had found (and it pretty much dried up quickly), then people started posting 'good' deals from the Samba classifieds. _________________ "There is only one sin; disconnection from self." |

I like to post up good deals I find and take possession of. |
I got tired of pointing that out too! _________________ Some people are so busy being clever they don't have time enough to be wise. |

Agreed. All too often a "good deal" found in here turns out to not be so. Also, it sucks if someone posts an ad for a bus that a local had been trying to buy, only to get swooped by a high roller. It happens, unfortunately. _________________ nothing |

I know the feeling. I had this car almost wrapped up for 10k a couple of months ago then the guys wife got on ebay. http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=1722293
I sat on it for a week and then went back and he said he sold it to a guy form LA for 13k. I laughed and said I could have gone 20k,Not a bus but the same kind of deal. Ya win some Ya loose some, But you live to fight another day Craig! |

I wish for a SOLD bus / price / date thread or chart, to track prices over time. |
When someone posts a good deal and links to an ad, is there a policy against listing the current price when the ad is linked in this thread?
The reason I ask is, I'm just surfing through looking at this thread history, but of course, several ads are deleted, either due to sale or just being pulled. Then someone like me has no idea what the price was at the time of the original post/link. Then there REALLY is no history, other than the tribal knowledge possessed by those who follow this thread daily.
Am I making any sense? |

There is no issue with posting the price.
In the past, more so in the Whine thread, I have often posted the ad title and price along with the ad link.
This is often a good idea in case of changes. _________________ How to Post Photos

I had one that I tried to sell for several years at north west swap meets. Dated 10/58, it did not sell with an asking price of $20-$30. Finally sold it locally for $15 (as I recall) to a friend. _________________ nothing |
