You can use the small hole gasket, or use the gasket and slightly enlarge the hole, to tailor the preheat to your needs and climate. We used to use the small hole gasket in the Summer, and the big hole one all other 8 months.

I think big hole is only for certain specific application.

Air filter design is to provide caburetor always with the same air temperature.

So Summer or Winter are not an issue for the air entering the carburetor.

Last generation air filters (plastic box and a thermostat) when all is OK provide a fixed 25°C air, also in cold climates.

I got if from Altrom but that was 14 years ago. They no longer have them. I still have the car and the muffler.

I've got a pile of these ERNST 40 HP mufflers. Do you need fresh air or stale air?

PM me and I can see about getting one to you.

Fresh but i'm not sure I need it yet. I am having heat riser issues that will be addressed this summer, unsure of cause at this point.

I only have Leistritz fresh air. They are much heftier than the ERNST ones by weight. Stale air I have ERNST. I have a pile of the Bus mufflers with the one tail pipe too. $150 + shipping.
