Is that different than a "boot sale"?

In the UK we have car boot sales..where people empty years worth of junk from their houses into the boot of their car, drive to a muddy field and sit miserably all day waiting for the genearl public to amble by and haggle the price of thier Boney M LP down from £1 to 50p
And we have auto jumbles which are similar but supposedly just for auto parts. Not much in the way of ACVW parts or rareties escape eBay these days though to turn up at an auto jumble so I wouldn't book the flights just yet. |
Ahhh....so more like a flea market or swap meet, thank's for the clarification _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

zerothehero has got it spot on about the boot sales and auto jumbles. The grass is always greener on the other side, I am travelling to California in June was for the classic but that has now been cancelled So I am now leaving two days earlier so I can visit the Pomona swap meet in the hope of seeing some real auto jumble! |

Most of the US car guys bring their stuff out still but the VW stuff has been on the internet for quite some time unfortunately. Pomona it seems is more of a right of passage now a days than an actual swap that it once was. _________________

I did some searching, and I see that one of these has been posted. But I thought I had posted up mine and I hadn't. Here goes...
Early 68 only blue seat for Neptune blue buses. It's still a little dirty in the photos, but it is in nearly perfect condition.

Hey Corey, thought that Blue seat is early '68, not '69. Am I missing something? _________________ ---

well said......
i remember when sat nights were a huge tailgating party (10 years ago)
every swap space was taken and prices were cheap
now
you here crickets at night
3 out of 4 swap spaces are empty
and prices are same as everywhere else
but if your a car guy ( not just a vw person)
then there is still 12 miles of swap spaces
and 1,000 vintage cars and hot rods for sale
its like the "blue collar" version of barrett jackson _________________ order your BAY WINDOW T-SHIRT here http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=1526918

It doesn't have to be real but I'd buy me some of those if you point me the right direction. _________________ One day as a lion, or a lifetime as lamb

I'd love to see how that works on a bay window. _________________ "In any racing engine, the nearer you are to it disintegrating, the better it's performance will be"

Its made of 3/8th plywood with 2 slots cut down the sides that the door tops fit into. then frills to hide all the brilliant engineering.
Funny part is I had no idea how it might work till saw an obscure post from New Zealand with a camper there. And the penny dropped- _________________ some days I get up and just sit and think. Some days I just sit.

They're messing with you. Since this is the bay window forum your post is a little out of place. _________________ 1976 Westy

Not if it's one of those hybrid Brazilian bays, then it actually would work on a bay. And if you really want to blow your mind, it won't work on '64-'67 slider splits... _________________ Formerly known in the forums as "OVALTEEN"
