Like the "clear" Hella tail light lenses! Cool

im not well versed on euro stuff...the tail lights say hella and made in germany, but i have not seen clear ones before. the "euro" tail light i am used to seeing are the red and amber ones. any insight to the correctness of the clear with red reflector tail lights?

They "were" indeed amber and red. It's just that these early Hellas had a thin coat of paint inside the clear plastic lenses. Old as they now are, the paint shrinks, cracks and peels off. I have a set just like yours. They were dirty and when I tried to clean them, the paint just came off. I now use red and amber bulbs. Cool

I believe the newer lenses are made of colored plastic versus just paint. Confused

ahh thanks for the info...i've been sorta baffled by them. i got red and amber bulbs for the tail lights ready to go so i'll just leave them clear as they are now.

Mine still have a bit of amber left in them. On the red, the bulbs I got weren't red enough so I painted the "bucket" with red "chrome" paint. Still looks kool and unique. Neutral

Nice...was this by any chance up near Nacodoches? It looks like one that was up there a LONG time ago, and the scenery looks similar....hard to imagine that one still being there, but you never know.

It's from Tennessee it's a really nice bus. Nicest bus by far I've ever picked up that Far East. I'm going to have to let go of something unfortunately.

Found this in upstate NY while looking for parts for my '66 that I posted a few pages back. It was buried to the top of the fender wells.

No locking column, and steering wheel was donated to a John Deere tractor. It did however come with all the seats! It also looks like it may have had a factory heater at one time. Cables run to rear under mat but were cut off when the trans was removed. I printed a picture of what the heater should look like and left it with the family cleaning up.

Applause

Cool bus, and we're glad it found a new home, but it just doesn't fit here.

tourist delivery standards are rare. this bus is also fairly early for tourist delivery.
