That's the koolest sectional right thar!!! Cool

If you are feeling a little down, you could stretch out on that and get some sectional healing.

Looks like we both missed out, I saw it on craigslist last night about 11pm, I didn't call because it was so late, and was going to call this morning. the ad was deleted. it was a 1964-65 camper converted panel with said to be Porsche motor. No pics of the motor but the rest of the bus looked really solid and straight. for a great price too.

Brought home this Shriner parade bus today. I have been trying to get it for a while. The guy called me yesterday and said the shriners decided to take my offer. He used to drive it in the parades in the mid 70's. They hacked both sides so they could have a kid in a wheel chair hanging out each side of the bus in a parade. I almost doubt there is another one like it.

Right now the plan is to clean it out, push the nose out some, and get it running and driving. I don't know what to do with this one. I'll probably sell it. I am trying to get a 13 window that has been sitting forever. Sometimes it takes years for people to decide to quit letting their bus rot outside. I have a couple of ghias, 2 bugs , 2 westfalias- one is for parts, 2 944's that are parts cars I need to scrap and a 911 that is my current project, so I am running out of indoor storage. It's pretty solid other than the front floor and battery tray and small spots on the rockers. I don't think it would be right to restore it. It's a shame that it was hacked, but at the same time it probably brought joy to some sick kids.

I'm the one who ended up with the Kansas bus, thanks to a man of his word. My dad called me Sunday and said there's one of those volkswagen "vans" you like on craigslist and it looks pretty good, you better check it out. I called the guy and was the first call he had. I told him I would take it and offered to send a deposit and he declined. The situation was my 8 year old had her last softball games Monday and Tuesday so I couldn't get there until Wednesday. He called me back Monday and said someone had offered WAY more than his asking price if he would go ahead and sell it to them. As you can see, he kept his word to me.

From the man that called it a van, "A man is only as good as his word and if you ain't got that you don't have anything."

Amazing I'm glad it worked out for you and sort of stunned that there are still people with that strong of a stance on their word. Thats a fading quality, even here in the south people are getting more and more greedy and less worried about their word.

Crukab, it is a standard walk through, no double doors. You can stand on the platforms when folded out. They bow some so they added some angle iron across. I need to remove the engine, the guy's son put a clutch in years ago and he said the motor hasn't turned since.
I have left several notes over the last few years and one of my oxygen customers talked to the guy a year ago but he wouldn't sell. I went to the area to look at some bugs and couldn't find them. I ended up driving past the house with the bus 2-3 months ago and a lady answered the door. She said the Shriners were taking bids. He called Friday and said that they were all too old now to put it back on the road and they decided to sell it to me.
