Ok, here is another tip for you wanna-B Bus Hunters
Rt. 287 N.Y., heading West towards the Tapanzee Bridge, near Terrytown N.Y., a Green ? lower, Silver ? upper Split Bus, Kombi or 13 window, looked like the glass was all out of it, looked like a Industrial area, on my right, next exit, I THINK, was exit 1 , a bit before the Tapanzee, too much traffic & traveling alone, so no pics....
Good Hunting !!!!!!!! |

Have you considered simply starting with a nicer bus? I don't know what your skills are, but the race is easier if you can see the finish line. If you are not a runner, don't start off doing a marathon. |

I just posted a couple in the gallery, one as found, the other on the trailer as we speak. It gets here really late tonight so my buddy is going to bring it here tomorrow night after work. Gonna loose sleep again!! I will try to transfer the pics from the gallery.

Looks like a great candidate - please make a build thread + check the VIN - looks a little westyish or something to me? Anything inside??[/quote]
I'll start a build thread, I know it's a good way to document what I have done.
1969 Westy cabinets and z-bed was inside, but in poor shape. I do woodworking, so will have fun finishing out the inside. I did find a Saphire II AM/FM radio inside, not working, but at least it will look good for now.
I did a check on the VIN on the bus and the VIN on the title. Not a match. So, I'm starting the bonded title paper work. _________________ '64 single cab Big Bend Bus Bash 2015 '16

Me too. It was not an easy extraction, and the bus is far from perfect, but it was worth the effort. I found out that a few friends of mine have known about this bus since the late 90's, but it was never for sale. One guy did buy the original roof rack off of it in '99. It is M-coded for the rack, too.
I did some archaeology this evening and found a few small items. I will get photos when I can, and post up the story here for all to read.
Here are a few shots of the bus in it's natural habitat, and the M-code plate. Export code is UC, Chicago.
Notice that in one shot you can see the parking brake lever fully engaged....since 1998. To my amazement, all the tires held air, and all of the wheels turned as we drug it out! _________________ nothing |

This one will be stuck into the collection out back, and another will be sold off to make room. Anyone looking for a 64 standard? _________________ nothing |
