well, it's springtime, so yesterday i decided to take The Tortoise out for some well-deserved pictures... my parts came in yesterday, so this weekend i'm going back down and installing them... perfect driving weather for the little car...
i know, it's hit or miss with a lot of people, but i sure do love it.
*edit: thesamba's auto resizing thingy buggered the pictures a little bit, but you still get the idea

You changed your screen name!!! I thought you sold the car to someone else. FatboyOverthrow is what your old name was. _________________ http://www.sundial-camper.com |

yep, and no, i haven't sold it... you know.. obviously.
Fatboy Overthrow was the name of my last band... we broke up, so the name needed changed to something i'll use on a more permanant basis. _________________ Some people are like slinkies; absolutely good for nothing, but it still brings a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs... |

yeah, i might make that move back over... i dunno... i'd like to send it somewhere (some day) to get it all professionally redone, since my father and i did all the body work ourselves (so it's far from perfect)... i was always kinda partial to the stock orange color, so i'd probably like to go that route... and at that point, i'm sure i'd much prefer it to be chromed rather than painted whatnots, but for now, this works out for me and it's fun to drive. lol _________________ Some people are like slinkies; absolutely good for nothing, but it still brings a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs... |

It might not be that hard. The nostril vents are aluminum, so they would polish out. Depending upon the condition of the chrome on the headlight rings and door handles you could either strip it or buy new. The rest of the stuff...turn signal bases, window scraper bit you could get away with painting black while you looked for more. |

i would love some BRM's or chrome 8-spokes for it. all the stuff i painted yellow, i did so because it was pitted or chipping up... you gotta remember, my ghia was sitting in a field for like, 8 years before i got my hands on it. I'd like to switch over to chrome, i could just never afford to buy all the parts to make it look good again. yay for being a college student. _________________ Some people are like slinkies; absolutely good for nothing, but it still brings a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs... |
