The steady upward climb of spring began a few weeks ago. Filled up yesterday for $3.40/gal. It was in the teens a couple of weeks ago.

Yup, 3.75 around here. Been that way since the first of March, with it only dropping for a couple of days, before jumping up again. Rolling Eyes

So fuel, gas, has been dropping for months now. A penny here and a nickel there. Sunday I paid $3.59 for reg. Very Happy That's $1.02 cheaper than it was a year ago. Shocked

$4.61 on Sunday the 7th. One mile away I took this picture on Saturday the 6th near my house. Not the place I normally would get gas at as it is always high.

What sucks is I just filled up in small town Idaho for only six cents per gallon less than southern CA. We have no where near the fuel taxes, and no where near the demand, yet we pay top dollar. 45 miles south, it is often 30-50 cents per gallon cheaper.

In the UK prices have come down - we currently pay around £1.30 a litre for unleaded (95)

Thats around $2.08 per litre at current exchange rates ( Say £1 = $1.60)

Or $2.08 x 3.78541 = $7.87 a US Gallon.

I would think yourselves lucky ...

curious, how much of that $7.87 per gallon is actual fuel cost and how much is government taxes on the fuel cost?

Exactly. The raw fuel price is just about the same all over, unless subsidized by the gov't like some countries.
