That is a RARE bus, the earliest of four I know of to exist.
Guess Trevor's friend who was supposed to buy it backed out...... |

Trevor, I would have loved to see you get the saleflap on the road and out to some of the shows. Too bad you have to sell it, but sometimes you just have to. Good luck with the other projects. I wish I had the means and the room to buy this one from you. But, to quote you, "I need another project, like I need another hole in the head."

The way the US dollar has been hammered, there's a good chance it will stay in Canada.
Unless of course someone from the UK decides to buy it |

Do you think that, because of it's rarity, it appeals to a very narrow market? _________________ The greatest obstacle to discovery is not ignorance, but the illusion of knowledge

it is pretty rare, but it has condition issues, and limited appeal.
if it was a special model deluxe, say a doubledoor in equal condition, I could see it going over $10k easily, but panels only seem to appeal to hardcore bus people (who are a fairly cheap crowd overall). and getting someone to drop more than $4k-$5k on a project car like that is very difficult.
of course auctions and/or special models tend to bring unexpected results. I know that a special model project ghia went for huge money last month. _________________ .

Hey guys.
I'm having mixed emotions on the sale of my flap. I guess we will see how it pans out. If it doesn't sell, then it will stay in my collection. _________________ 53 Canadian standard oval

Its not a Kombi? Not to say it is more special than a panel, I was just wondering if the windows were factory?
Opps, read the ad
I hope someone can put it on the road and respect the bus, not chop the roof off or put in sky lights |

Little OT I guess but do people often make their own flap buses? I thought ive seen a few pics of those. Its a sweet concept, maybe lime green and white for that bad boy. _________________ Rave green '81 rabbit

Well being that this is the only "Bullet Blinker" Varkaufswagen so far discovered on the planet and it is for sale it should fetch a real good amount of money.... besides the rot it is a very rare........other than my old 1962 year model Westfalia Verkaufswagen which Greg owns now, this one beats the 62 by a few years...do not get me wrong they are both unique as the 62 has a solid rear hatch and the 59 was delivered in Primer which is pretty cool as you could almost paint it any color and not feel that is should be the original color on the code plate. Check the bidding now!! someone is going to own a rare bird |

Looks like another m-code for the site - B01. It'll be the first m-code listed! _________________
