OK I have more questions....
1) I've discovered - there are differences with the pre- August '58 tail light assemblies... I think they may have changed every year.
2) One of my housings has a twin spade push-on wire connector... When did this happen?
3) Is it possible there were versions with the twin spade rubber push-on connector for dual filament bulb; or did it get swapped from another car - if the latter, what car?
4) The early examples all have sockets that are designed to receive double filament bulbs - the offset pins on the lamp base
5) The latest LL example has a completely different assembly; with the more modern contacts, but still with screw connectors.
6) The latest LL example will NOT take a dual filament bulb like the earlier version.
7) Was there ever a version with spade type push-on connectors?

The one with the spades is a repair job it's common to break / crack these with age it's also a 57 housing
Your other one is for 58/59 with both screw terminals |

Are these "repair kits" available or from another Hella light? I dig the option of having a dual filament bulb option in the earlier style.
Rhetorical question: Why would "they" have a dual filament option on the earlier version, then not keep that option on the later version?
Thanks SR _________________ 56 Oval Sunroof

That dual filament push on is probably a fix for a bad turn signal switch. There is no reason for dual filiment bulbs. The top is the brake and turn and the bottom is the running light or tail light. The turnsignal switch flashes the brake light when you are sitting with your foot on the brake and turn signal on. _________________ '58 Ghia 2387cc with a Berg / Folts 5 Speed

God, dunno. Narrowed beam. But front/rear arches do look more level? Razor sharp
Mick's 58...VolksWorld...best feature I'd read in a long time!
Got a favourite quote?
I think I heard Udo saying one of them when he was asked why he'd not lowered his lowlight _________________ -StockRocks- |
