Need to know the bolts specs that hold the top to the bottom seat. It looks to be a semi oval slot headed short bolt with a washer but I need the specs?
Are they avail anywhere? Spacers? Etc.
LMk if you know.

they are parts versus hardware, so they are not standardly available. I don't know if anyone reproduces them, but you would need a machinist to do it. here is an NOS set that came with one of my early cars. I can take more pics and measurements if you need.

Awesome. Do you know the size and thread pattern of the lower piece that has the rubber in it too ? The stopper so to speak? I made two sets of different sizes because mine had different bolts sizes in them
Love the measurements if the slotted have where too
Thx

Nice early Ghias, boys
Ace period pic of a 58/9 Toucan Black Coupe
Interesting detail that the wheels looks to be all black rather than having (the thought to be factory) Steel Grey inner rims

This picture is all over the Facebook Ghia groups at the moment and I keep coming back to it. Not surprising really but what keeps nagging at me is that it could, just possibly be my Ghia. At first I dismissed the thought as my Ghia according to the birth certificate didn't have white walls from the factory but as Chris has pointed out...the wheel rims are all black...very unusual. When my Ghia arrived the all original date stamped wheels were all black too...no sign of any original inner rim "Steel Grey". The only pictures of Betty with her car, (my Ghia's original owner) are at the earliest 1989 and I can't transpose in my mind, Betty's looks back to over 50 years ago.
I think I'll get on the phone to her this week. _________________ John.

John,
I concur this could be your Ghia. Looking carefully at the photo 2 clues jump out at me. The car at the far left appears to be a 1960 Chrysler product. (not sure which model) And, on the far right, the vestige of license plate that is visible appears to be a black and yellow California plate.
It would be *REALLY* cool if Betty confirmed that it is she and her (your) Ghia!!

Yes I had noticed the plate and it has already been suggested the location is possibly downtown SF. That would tie in with Betty as she lives in Berkeley and worked for many years in SF.

Did you have maintenance stickers on the door or stickers on back window? |
Yes I have maintenance stickers on the door but from the '80s and a rear window "Audibon Society" decal and a couple on the front screen. Nothing I could identify from the picture. _________________ John.

I found a picture of the actual car that was my first car as a kid.
Not a Ghia but here it is at a local high school when new.
The site where I found it is a site about growing up here in Riverside CA, home of Econo Motors.
The car did not look quite this good when I got it LOL.
Maybe the pict is your car too John |
