I found it is So. Cal... 14 years ago or so. It truly was a little ol' lady about 15 miles outside of Pasadena. Cleaned it, detailed it, freshened up the interior and did a mechanical rebuild. Killer and fun driver! Still 6 Volt!!

Here's my 1964 Bug. Although a lot of the car has been redone, somehow the original paint has for the most part been left alone. It has been clear coated to preserve the original patina so maybe that doesn't count. The floors and heater channels have all been replaced and the pan repainted. The original engine was freshened up as a 1385cc big bore. Original trans still in it. Interior and dashboard paint 100% untouched. Ashtray still has surface rust on it. All original knobs, radio, gauges, and interior trim. All new upholstery though. Under front hood all original. I just installed the Flat 4 banjo wheel.

Here's a picture showing the Bug in original untouched condition in 2012 I believe 2 or 3 owners ago. I did track the guy down. Verified by the VIN and of course you can compare the same patina characteristics.

The license plate light isn't correct but I believe the deck lid might be.

Nice!

Why do you think the license plate light isn't correct?
Just so you know, some early '64's still had the early license light and peanut turn signals. Being that you have peanuts, I am willing to bet your license light is correct too.

Wow I didn't know that. Fro all the pics I've seen it's usually the wider one. Thanks for the input. BTW - My info needs to be updated. I'm 30 minutes from you. I'm located up the road a few blocks from Palmer Mall in Easton,PA area. I actually had the Bug up at a buddy's place in Saylorsburg.
Here's more of a top down shot in the garage. Crappy cell pic but you can really see the patina on the roof and the "blister" on the passenger side hood that matches the older pic.

Yeah, there's a few threads on the subject here. They switch to the larger front turn signals and wide license light later into the '64 model year but, some really early '64's have '63 and features.

I saw the PA plate and was wondering. We should meet up sometime. Saylorsburg is literally down the road and Easton, as you noted, isn't far away at all.

So many awesome cars in here with original paint. Here's mine with mostly original turkis after stripping a weird metallic green respray. I had to repaint the front fenders because they weren't original to the car.
