Hey don't we have a new member who has a recently paralyzed girlfriend?
This might be just the ticket for them.

The 90 westy in Denver is real. Saw it Friday. Rebuilt title from a front drivers side crash. Repair work is starting to show through the repaint. Owner bought it after the crash 17 years ago. Nice guy. Interior was in good shape. Stopper for me was the rust. Bad kitchen rust in usual spot. Insulation was visible. Some seam and window seal rust too. Didn't hear it run. Could be a good deal for someone who likes body work.

Seller of the 90 Westy In Denver was a nice guy. It was a good deal. I didn't need another van. If it was White I would have bought it.

CL find in Boston area

http://boston.craigslist.org/bmw/cto/4677201677.html

Quote:
1984 Volkswagen Vanagon Westfalia Camper - $3500 (newton)
1984 Volkswagen Vanagon Westfalia Camper- 140K miles 4 speed manual transmission. $3500 or best offer. Have owned van for 20 years. Classic green with plaid interior, sink, fridge, stove and pop top. Interior in good shape and original. Runs well. Original engine needs new exhaust and has small oil leak. Exterior (rust) and engine need TLC and then she's ready. Priced accordingly. Call to live the dream!

Not sure how flexible this place is on the price. I know they don't really care about VW's Just want to get rid of them. I stopped and looked quickly as I had the grandkids with me so I could not look real close. Just noticed some spots where they touched up the paint. They said they put $1100 in two front axles and alignment. I would consider buying if I didn't already have two Vanagons

with the MIL check engine light on?
and back seat seating where your back seat passengers knees can touch each other.. and you can't put the table up if you're at seat capacity unless someone steps out.. likely prepare $ for a new Automatic trans too.. no thank you.

the back seat did look a little tight, it also looked like the rear facing seat behind the driver needed to be removed or something to lower the table. I've never owned a Eurovan but I have heard about the transmission issues. I just wanted to post in case someone was looking

I talked to the dealer today. They are having the Eurovan serviced to see what the check engine light is on for. I mentioned making an offer of 5k and they said they would consider $6000. I bet it could be had for no more than $5500. I'd consider it for 5k

Just came across this- if I wasn't in grad school full time, working a little less than full time and doing an internship- I'd definitely grab a trailer and pull it home for the price!!
