Even though the posting date for the ad was seven days ago, I'm pretty sure I've seen this van on cl for several months. In fact, I think the seller had two vans for sale at one point.

This guy has had this one and the one with the driver's side smashed up since about last September.
I haven't contacted the seller, something seemed shady and I expected the guy being hard to talk to.

I am interested in parts. Did you find out what was left? What kind of $$ he's asking?

Seems like a decent deal on a running Westy with a unique early Joker interior:

This 1982 vanagon deisel runs and drives. It is equipped with a sunroof. The body has 221xxx and the motor has 80xxx it is a 4 speed manual. Does not overheat. Brakes are decent and the tires are drivable. Im really looking for a trade preferably another vw but will entertain all offers. Only looking for cars trucks motorhomes No boats or snowmobiles or motorcycles... if you have any questions feel free to text or call. Not in any hurry to sell or trade. Just testing the waters.

Update. Needs alternator at the moment. If you want it the way it sits 2500. If i fix it goes back to 3500

This could be a steal at $6500 for the right buyer if all the information is accurate.

I'm a little confused how this can be a locking diff though when I don't see anything attached to activate it. I know the connection would be on the other side, but you'd think that you would see something going to it. Think

If that's really a 5 speed 2WD transaxle with locking diff, then that's probably worth half or more of asking price all by itself.

Always nice to see a Dehler Profi. You should have promoted it more.

1984 VW Vanagon odometer: 151000 paint color : brown size : full-size type : van drive : rwd fuel : gas transmission : automatic title status : clean cylinders : 4 cylinders

condition: fair

Selling my mechanically redone 84 VW Van.

I bought it a little over a year ago not running and here's what I've replaced to get it up and running like a champ.

Water Pump
Distributor
Wires
Plugs
Gas Tank, Filter and Lines
Exhaust
Coolant Lines
Tires
Wheel Brake Cylinders
... and lots more.

I have 9k into it and would love to pass it on to someone who wants to redo the interior, put on a new windshield and get it out camping this summer! Registered with fresh RV plates and I have a clean title.

I have tons of pictures, mechanic books and spare parts.

Open to offers.

Is this a good deal?
It is a non- running westy van. Air cooled. Not a lot of rust. Mold spots on the interior of the pop top and a couple of repairs on the canvas. No way for me to check if anything worked because the engine was 1/2 out. The H2Otap looks like it need a repair and the interior looked a bit worn. It was wallpapered with a ugly wall paper.

Is this thing worth the effort and $$$ to put a Subaru engine in?

I wouldn't classify this syncro westy as being in "nice" condition but seems like it might be a good deal for somebody, given today's prices for syncros.

Hmm. Were '84 Wolfsburg's ever made in this color? No mention of a paint job, but does say dings etc.

That's Bamboo Yellow, H1B, used throughout the European production years.

Ok, I thought it was the ivory color. I just hadn't seen a Wolfsburg 1984 model in that color before. I've always seen them as the two tone brown. Good to know.
