That looks interesting but I'm always weary of salvage titles. That kills a vans value.

Seattle, tin top manual - clutch not working $2k

Ad:
http://seattle.craigslist.org/est/cto/5770336202.html

Text from ad:
1988 Vanagon Type II
VIN: WV2YB0250JH008951
condition: fair
cylinders: 4 cylinders
drive: rwd
fuel: gas
paint color: blue
title status: clean
transmission: manual
type: van
OBO

Our family is sad to see our beloved van go; many happy family memories!

Comes with the center 2 seats, not shown in pictures.

Clutch went out after I just put brand new:
*All season tires
*Front and rear brakes
*Front and rear shocks
*Steering rack
*Outer tie rod
*Upper and lower ball joint
*Lowerer ball joint
*Rack/pinion
*Main brake/clutch cylinder
*Water pump
Drove like it rolled off the showroom floor for about a month until the clutch went out. I had replaced the clutch slave 2 years ago so I troubleshoot the main and there was a touch of fluid leaking so i replaced it with no resolve.

Van still runs great, been sitting so lifters knock and could use a new muffler.

After dumping the money into all the above maintenance and it sitting for almost a year it needs to find a new home to someone who can take care of her.

Potential deal on a locker syncro that had a minor(ish?) engine fire. 117K on the clock and the body is in pretty fair condition.

If I was closer and had the room I would snatch it up.

You have to register on the site, you may also need to put down a deposit(refundable) depending on how much bidding power you want.
I purchased a syncro for my son in portland over a year ago through one of their auctions and all of the policies and rules are pretty easy to follow.

To add a little information for price valuations the above mentioned Syncro sold for $4450 today. Then you have to add the buyers fees, internet bid fee and pull out fee for a grand total of about $4925 + or - depending on the deal you get on fees.

Who got it? I know it wasn't BV because it wasn't white.

I can't come up with a good reason that this one isn't a good deal, and its hasn't sold yet... Maybe I'm missing something.

Huh, another one, same dealer, even fewer $'s ... Not enough info, but someone should take a closer look, I guess.

Just saw this:

http://chicago.craigslist.org/nwc/cto/5791486090.html

If I had the place for it, I'd grab it. Body looks pretty rotten, but interior is there (I'd love that set of captains front seats)

I know. Looks like there is a new propane tank sitting on the floor too. I could use that as well. I need a barn (and I live in Chicago).

Welp looks like that sold fast, no longer available:

1987 Westy camper; $6500.00 Seattle
Craigslist ad:
http://seattle.craigslist.org/skc/cto/5795919605.html

Shows damage to the front end, but the pictures are too small to see the details. The pictures also do a bad job of showing the body condition. Lastly, in the photos where the top is "down" it is not down all the way....not sure if thats just because they popped the top and took come pictures and pulled it down to take more (but didnt close it all the way) or if ti is an issue...

anyways... just sharing.
