I'm considering Autometer over VDO mostly for price. They seem to have about the same quality, and many pics of a performance dash seem to have a mix of both.

I'm staying away from mechanical oil temp or pressure guages. That's a long run and I seriously doubt a mechanical oil temp guage would be even close to accurate.

A good friend is having problems with his Autometer oil temp and pressure guages, but he's pretty sure he's got them miswired (the temp jumps up quickly to the middle, while the pressure slowly rises after the car runs!).

I have Autometer's in mine. I had a problem with mine having bought them at a swapmeet. I sent them to Autometer for inspection.....they sent me a new gauge in the package, no questions asked.

I have VDO gauges.....oil pressure and oil temp. The temp sender is in the oil change plate, replacing the center oil change bolt. Both electric, work great.
