In a buddy's driveway, with another buddy's OG 57 Oval (sweet all original unmolested semaphore car!!!). Then all 3 together (another buddy's Herbie, a Disney promotional car. I LOVE that car!!!). We had a great time that day immersing ourselves in everything VW and caravanning to a car show that afternoon.

It now has a FL tag.
It's a long story, FL requires visual confirmation of the VIN. The car was undriveable for over a year with new pans, heat channels, pillar bottoms, inner fender panels, etc. Once done, it came to light that the VA DMV had messed up the VIN on the title. After numerous discussions, calls, meetings, and my unwillingness to take the car 750 miles back to Virginia to correct it the FL compliance officer finally came to my house and inspected it and completed a form that allowed the local DMV to finally issue me a FL title and tag. In the meantime I carried a file folder with all of the documentation of this mess in my car. I still have a partnership business and warehouse in Virginia and another car still in NC.
Virginia messed up the VIN on my other VW too, but I found it and had them fix it years ago. Never thought to check the other one. Apparently this one had been wrong on the previous titles and just carried forward. Could have been wrong for 40 years since VA just takes the old title and fills out the new one without verifying (that may be different now). Lesson learned, check it and get it fixed before you move to Florida. |
