It's 4 wires. If you know what you're doing it's like 5 minutes.

They provide a 12v source directly to the starter and bypasses the 40 year old wire in the car.

This is a good idea if you don't want to go to the trouble of fixing the original wires and connectors (which I prefer). You can see by the wire length that this kit is made to mount INSIDE the car under the back seat, NOT under the car where it will corrode and soon fail. Should have come with the connectors off, though, so you can snake them through the stock grommets,

I made that kit. And on the late model cars there's a splice in the starter wire under the rear seat on the driver's side. Al you have to do is pull it apart, connect the blue and the black wires. Then 12+ and a ground and it's done.
